  • Patent number: 6739799
Abstract: A screed with a trussed beam having a cross-section in the geometrical shape of an equilateral triangle used to support tools for working plastic concrete. The beam is supported between spaced apart, wheeled carriages riding forms bounding the plastic concrete. The beam is oriented such that the cross-sectional triangle is inverted with the wide base at the screed top and the apex at the bottom. The inverted triangular truss beam has sufficient space to suspend working tools substantially within the peripheral edges of the beam. The screed uses upstanding integral outriggers so that the pitch at the center of the screed can be adjusted exteriorly to the pour site. A rotary spreader displaces concrete forwardly without deleteriously compressing it as the screed moves forwardly.

  • Patent number: 6726193
Abstract: A tension rod positioning apparatus and method for C-type clamps and Vises including a shaped threaded rod inserted into a shaped threaded hole on an engagement collar. When the shaped rod and shaped hole are aligned, the rod may be freely positioned within the collar. When the shaped rod is inserted into the collar and turned, the rod engages and turns the engagement collar. The engagement collar includes an external thread sized to fit an internal thread on a clamp base. In this manner, the rod may be inserted and then turned in one direction to both engage the engagement collar and increase the clamping pressure. After clamping, the shaped rod may be turned in the opposite direction to loosen the clamping pressure and disengage the engagement collar. Once the rod and collar have been disengaged by aligning the shaped rod and shaped hole of the engagement collar, the length of the rod may be freely moved within the engagement collar to reposition the clamp for the next operation.

  • Patent number: 6712225
Abstract: A socket holder for providing increased holding power, rotational release, and biased position return. The socket holder including a base with a pin extending from the base. The pin has a conical section with an increasing diameter at the distal end of the pin. The conical section has a reduced curvature side and an increased curvature side such that a ball can be wedged between the increased curvature side and a socket base to hold the socket on the holder. The reduced curvature side allowing the ball to be rotated around the pin to reduce the wedge force between the ball and the socket to release the socket from the holder. A spring is used to both bias the ball against the pin and the socket base and to automatically return the holder to a state of readiness for holding a new socket once a socket is removed from the holder.

  • Patent number: 6686566
Abstract: The present invention efficiently and safely combines directed air flow for drying and heat removal with panel infrared emitters that provide thermal energy for curing LPI solder mask and legend inks onto printed circuit boards being transported though an area with pneumatic and radiant processes occurring simultaneously. The internal geometric configuration of the apparatus and high velocity input air results in an airflow stream in relation to the panel infrared emitters that ensures any flammable vapors are kept separated from the infrared emitters.

  • Patent number: 6679673
Abstract: A trailer storage rack for transporting material and fluids with a livestock trailer. The trailer storage rack mounts to the livestock trailer to transfer the weight and forces of operation to the trailer. The storage rack may be spaced above the trailer to allow for the use of trailer roof vents. An open compartment, dry storage compartment and a fluid compartment are described. Loading and unloading means for the open and dry storage compartment include a rotatable lifting crane that may be compacted and stored in the storage compartment. Access for filling and the draining the fluid compartment is provided by connecting the fluid compartment to side conduits of a ladder such that the side conduits of the ladder act as pipes connected to the fluid compartment. A water hose connection valve is attached to the conduits for access at the ground level to provide easy access for filling and draining the fluid storage compartment.
