  • Patent number: 6429869
Abstract: There is provided a bar graph displaying method as well as a program storage medium of the method capable of easily displaying a bar graph in which each of bar portions is divided into two regions without requiring a user to perform calculation of totaling a large amount of data. A set of elements having a name attribute, a residence attribute and an age attribute is classified into subsets having no common elements by the residence attribute. Each of the subsets is divided into two regions on the basis of a threshold value of the age attribute, and the bar graph in which the bar portions corresponding to the subsets are each divided is displayed. The threshold value is displayed by the position of a bar arranged on a slider in which a setting range and a unit of the above threshold value are shown. If the bar on the slider is slid to vary the threshold value, then the subsets are each redivided on the basis of the varied threshold value, and the bar graph of the redivided subsets is redisplayed.

  • Patent number: 5825384
Abstract: An image forming apparatus of the present invention includes a toner carrier, a counter electrode, and a control electrode, which have the same potential as a ground potential of the image forming apparatus during a non-operational period while a flight electric field-use operational voltage and control voltages are not applied. During an operational period while the operational voltage and the control voltages are applied, a flight suppressing voltage for suppressing flight of the toner in the control voltages is first applied to the control voltage, and thereafter the operational voltage is applied to the counter electrode. When the application of the operational voltage and the control voltage are suspended, the flight suppressing voltage is first applied as the control voltage, then the application of the operational voltage is suspended, and thereafter the application of the flight suppressing voltage is suspended.

  • Patent number: 5758282
Abstract: Each radio terminal monitors generation of address conflict between terminals including the terminal of interest by referring to epoch numbers and addresses of other terminals registered in a history table and an address table in a data memory of a radio LAN adapter of the terminal of interest during data communication of a host computer. When conflict is generated, the terminal of interest resolves the conflict by requesting the communicating terminal to update the address and receiving the updated address. Communication protocol and software for address allocation are stored in a program memory and carried out by a microcontroller. Communication with other terminals is carried out through an antenna, a radio transceiver, and a radio interface.

  • Patent number: 5707754
Abstract: A thermomagnetic printer of the in-plane magnetization system includes a magnetic recording layer made of Dy.sub.x Co.sub.(1-x) or Dy.sub.y Co.sub.(1-y) and a base layer made of Ti or Ta. Since the described arrangement enables the magnetic recording layer to be formed by the sputtering method or the electron beam evaporation method, and the like, the magnetic recording layer having a uniform thickness and properties in a large area can be formed without difficulties. In addition, by adopting the Ti layer or the Ta layer as the base layer, a reduction in a residual magnetization can be prevented even when the magnetic recording layer is made thicker, thereby increasing a magnetic attraction force.

  • Patent number: 5257064
Abstract: In a copying machine provided with a recirculating document feeding apparatus (RDH), the time required for the overall copying operation is reduced. In the copying machine provided with the RDH, there are cases where the copying operation is started after the number of the documents is counted. Maximum transporting speed of the document in the copying operation is a speed determined in accordance with minimum copying magnification. However, since the transporting speed of the document be set higher than the speed determined in accordance with the minimum copying magnification, the time required for the counting operation can be reduced. Thereby, the time required for the overall copying operation can be reduced.
