Abstract: An apparatus and method for sampling gases at elevated temperatures which is amenable to analysis in a manufacturing environment is described. In particular the method and apparatus can be used to determine accurate compositions of gas mixtures contained in blisters of elastomeric products. The device comprises a syringe 15,15a and a heated block 12,12a for receiving and holding syringe 15,15a, and for preheating or maintaining the temperature of syringe 15,15a. A thermostat may be associated with heating block 12,12a for controlling its temperature close to the temperature of a product from which a gas sample is taken.
Abstract: The belts of the reinforcing structure of a pneumatic tire are reinforced with high strength, light weight aramid cords having a linear density of 420 to 1100 dTex, the cords having a twist of 315 to 551 TPM (8 to 14 TPI). In alternative embodiments, overlay material may be incorporated into the belt reinforcing structure. An illustrated embodiment of the tire has a belt reinforcing structure comprising a folded belt folded around a cut belt.

Abstract: An apparatus, interposed between and attached to a drive vehicle and an object to be moved, dampens the force (drive, resistance, inertia, etc.) between them. The apparatus has a rigid structure which is capable of transferring the large forces required to pull the object, from the drive vehicle to the object, but uses damping to moderate the impact of the forces on the drive vehicle/object combination.
