Abstract: A toilet seat lifter for attachment to a toilet seat as an aid for raising and lowering the toilet seat without the need to actually touch the toilet seat. The lifter attaches to the bottom of the toilet seat and engages with the spacer bumper common on the bottom of toilet seats. When the lifter is attached to the bottom of the toilet seat, the handle portion of the lifter extends beyond the peripheral edge of the toilet seat.
Abstract: A solar powered floatable chlorinating apparatus consisting of a floatable chamber which receives and contains the chlorine medium and dispenses solubilized chlorine into water entering into and dispersing from the chamber. A solar powered motor, operably associated with the floatable chamber, drives the floatable chamber randomly about the surface of the body of water.

The head portion has an aperture adapted to engage the dead bolt latch knob in locking fashion. The leg members define a slot which engages the door knob shank or the door handle.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for detecting fluid leaks from aboveground fluid storage tanks is disclosed. The invention consists of radially disposing a plurality sample probes in the subsurface soil area underneath the aboveground tank. Each of the plurality of sample probes are connected to a vacuum pump and a sampling port to collect the soil gasses drawn from the subsurface soil area. At least one air injection probe is disposed in the subsurface soil area and extends underneath the aboveground tank to an approximate center point of the tank circumference. The volatile liquid phase tracer is mixed with the fluid in the tank, and soil gas samples are evacuated through the subsurface soil area underneath the tank into the sample probes, collected and analyzed for the presence of the gas phase tracer.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for detecting leaks in underground fluid pipes. Detection of a leak is achieved by introducing a liquid phase tracer into the fluid within the underground pipe, which volatilzes to a gas phase when the fluid leaks from the underground fluid pipe. A permeable tube is buried in the soil in a position above an underground fluid transfer pipe. At least one end of the permeable tube is terminated in a recess vault for access to the end of the permeable tube and sampling soil gases from the permeable tube. Should any fluid leak occur in the underground fluid transfer pipe, the escaping tracer escapes in liquid form and, upon encountering free air in the subsurface soil, vaporizes to the gas phase and diffuses through the soil surrounding the underground fluid transfer pipe and into the permeable tube for collection and analysis.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for obtaining a liquid, such as water from a source, purifying the liquid, supplying a carbonating gas, such as CO.sub.2, to the pre-purified liquid and dispensing either a carbonated and purified supply of water or purified water only from a tap.
Abstract: There is disclosed a manually powered aeration device having a frame and a removable weight tank which is positioned such that the center of gravity of the weight tank and the aerator cylidner are in substantially vertical alignment.

The posterior articulating assembly is characterized by a ball and socket joint and a pivot joint. The ball and socket joint has a socket member which is operably coupled to the pivot joint and a ball member which is operably coupled to a first teeth cast. The pivot joint has a pivot member operably coupled to a support member for joining the pivotal joint to a second teeth cast. The anterior incisal support assembly has an incisal pin operably joined to the first teeth cast and an incisal plate, which cooperates with the incisal pin, joined to the second teeth cast.
Abstract: A gravity feed apparatus has a plurality of deflecting baffles positioned within a treatment chamber to disperse a flow of plant seed within a treatment chamber and apply sprays of a chemical solution used to treat the plant seed.
Abstract: An improved male urinal device comprises an upper thin walled sheath, an intermediate transition zone having a thicker wall, and a lower stem portion having a still thicker wall. The stem portion includes a stem, a bulbous portion above the stem and a conical or funnel section joined to the upper portion of the bulb and to the lower end of the transition zone. A resilient ring of foam cushion material is bonded to an upper portion of the inner surface of the sheath and has a second adhesive surface which engages and forms a seal around the penis. The present invention also provides a method of applying a suitable adhesive to an inner surface of the male urinal device. The method comprises employing a transfer mandrel having a high release outer coating of a suitable high release material, applying a suitable pressure sensitive adhesive in various patterns, rolling the male urinal device onto the transfer mandrel thereby causing the adhesive to adhere to an inner surface of the male urinal device.
Abstract: Novel diterpene compounds are separated from dry biomass of Grindelia camporum. The separated compounds are then hydrogenated and esterified. Both the hydrogenated and ester products are useful as tackifiers.
Abstract: A specialized dimension proportioning hand-held calculator designed specifically for computing percent reductions of photographs in the graphic arts field. The calculator computes the percent reduction from an original width or height of the photograph and from the desired reduction width or height in decimal notation and fractional notation. The calculator also is designed to perform basic mathematical functions. The calculator is generally comprised of a mode selection device, a numerical keyboard, a keyboard display, a percent reduction display, a power cell, and four display cells comprised of decimal and fraction displays, an enter key, a constant key, and a display cell clear key. The calculator components are encased in a generally hard, rectangular casing. Power for the calculator is supplied by the power cell.
Abstract: An electrode boat assembly for holding workpieces to be processed within a chemical reaction process during the chemical vapor process. The electrode boat assembly comprises a plurality of electrode plates held in position by rods and spacer sleeves in order to provide easy assembly and disassembly. Two of the rods are electrically conductive in order to set up plasma field between adjacent electrode plates. Insulating spacer sleeves over the conductive rods preclude plasma formation at unwanted locations. The spacers sleeves and electrode rods have substantially the same coefficient of thermal expansion to minimize warpage and breakage of electrode boat components.
Abstract: In a chemical vapor deposition chamber, an improved technique for providing deposition materials to the growth surface is described. The gas carrying deposition materials is constrained to have axial symmetry thereby providing a uniform deposition of materials on the substrate. The gas can be initially directed toward the substrate with a generally uniform perpendicular velocity. The gas can be introduced into the deposition chamber through a multiplicity of apertures and is extracted from the vicinity of the substrate in a manner to preserve the axial symmetry. The apparatus permits convenient control of the deposition process by varying the distance between apparatus introducing the gas carrying the deposition materials and the substrate. The flow of gas minimizes the problems arising from autodoping of the growth layer of material. The flow of gas and generally small size of the deposition chamber minimize particulate contamination of the growing film.

Abstract: A bone clamp and method of use is described for clamping damaged or fractured bones. The clamp comprises a hooked or barbed pin which is inserted through a hole in the bones to be clamped. The hook springs out to rest against the far side of the bone. The shaft of the pin protrudes from the near side of the bone and has conical shaped protrusions whose larger ends face toward the hook. A unitary clamping button having a central bore smaller than the larger ends of the conical protrusions is slipped over the exposed shaft and forced over the protrusions. The protrusions and/or the button deform to allow passage of the button. Once the button is past a protrusion the deformed parts spring back to their original shape and the button cannot be retracted. An automatically locking ratchet-type clamping action is obtained and installation of the button may be made with one hand.
