Abstract: There is provided a system for automatically sensing the activities of an animal within a confined space. The system generally includes a containment assembly having top and side portions within which an animal may be confined. The system also includes an infrared light matrix subsystem for sensing the animal's position within the containment assembly relative to a first plane; an ultrasonic phase shift subsystem for sensing animal's position change within the containment assembly relative to a second plane; as well a decoding and interface circuit subsystems coupled to both the infrared light matrix and ultrasonic phase shift subsystems to perform the necessary decoding and input/output interface functions. The infrared light matrix subsystem is formed by a plurality of infrared transmitter and receiver pairs preferably attached to the side portions of the containment assembly and controlled by a single-chip microcomputer.
Abstract: Disclosed is a diaphragm buzzer including a lower cover and an upper cover. A sheet buzz element having a centered diaphragm is disposed inside the lower and the upper cover and is protectively sandwiched between a press plate and a plastic washer before it is fixed to the upper cover, lest the sheet buzz element should detach from the wires connecting it to a circuit board and become loose and damaged in the two covers.
Abstract: A walking-type exerciser including two mounting seats, a detachable first supporting frame member connected to the mounting seats, a second supporting frame member detachably attached to the mounting seats, a handle detachably connected to the mounting seats, and two rocking devices detachably mounted to the mounting seats.
Abstract: A versatile air blow-gun is provided which includes a clamping assembly on the mouth of the gun. By use of the clamping assembly, a long scavenge pipe with a head bent at an angle can slide in or out when the clamp is loosened and be fixed at a desired position and direction by locking it. An inflating adapter is screwed on to the end of the air scavenge pipe, which adapter is used for blowing a larger area at a lower air speed to prevent the dirt and the chips from flying up. By means of a shuttling sleeve, a regulating adapter, a spring and a scavenge sleeve, the compressed air is ld from a smaller channel to a bigger one for lowering the blowing air speed and increasing the sweeping area. When the crown bar of the regulation adapter presses against the valve stem of the air valve of the tire, it can inflate the tire.
Abstract: An improved drinking water apparatus is provided which utilizes a microcomputer to detect water level to automatically control water intake and heating. The apparatus includes a heating tank having a heater at the bottom side, a first cooling pipe at the top of the heating tank, a distilled water tank, and a second cooling pipe located at the top of the distilled water tank and connected to the first cooling pipe. The cooling pipes are each provided with a cooling fan for cooking the steam generated by boiling water into distilled water. The temperature of the distilled water is lowered to a degree suitable for drinking purposes.
Abstract: A sprinkling head structure including a housing, a valve seat, a water valve, a cap member and a ball joint. The valve seat is disposed in the housing, whereby an air chamber is defined between the valve seat and the housing. The water valve is disposed in the valve seat and communicated with a trumpet-shaped water discharging passage of the valve seat. The valve seat is formed with through holes communicating the air chamber with the water discharging passage. When a liquid flows from the water valve to the water discharging passage, an instantaneous low pressure is created, whereby the air is sucked in through the air vents from the air chamber to impact and interrupt the liquid so that the air is mixed with the liquid to form an intermittent bead-like water beam for achieving a massaging effect.
Abstract: An improvement on the phase-locked loop (PLL) circuit, in which an amplifier is disposed at the modulating signal input end of the PLL, and the output end of the amplifier is connected in series to a resistor and an inductor, followed by a resistor connected to a higher DC bias as well as a variable capacitance diode connected to ground. In such a way, the variable capacitance diode is under the higher bias and thus has a smaller capacitance change, while having its Q-value property opposite to the resonance curve formed by the crystal unit of an oscillator which is associated in parallel with the variable capacitance diode, thereby forming in a good compensation for the linearity of the circuit architecture and achieving an ideal frequency deviation and a reduced distortion caused by the modulation.
Abstract: A terminal structure for memory card connectors includes a front positioning element; a rear positioning element oriented in the same direction as the front positioning element and connected to the front positioning element by means of two clamp pieces disposed therebetween; a retain element extending backwardly from the rear positioning element and having a U-shaped section; and a curved tail portion extending backwardly from the retain element. The upper and lower clamp pieces joining the front and rear positioning element have an upper contact portion and a lower contact portion respectively, the upper and lower contact portions curving inwardly towards each other and having respective inwardly curved, positioning slots such that an insert pin of a card mounting slot inserted into the terminal may have its upper and lower surfaces projecting from the positioning slots to expose on the contact portions respectively. The terminal has good resilience and firm clamping and positioning effects.
Abstract: Disclosed is a shape-chageable sectional penholder assembled from a base, a middle panel, a plurality of brick elements, and a cover. The middle panel is formed at two faces with a plurality of projected rods. The rods on a first face of the middle panel form a circle and the rods on a second face of the middle panel form a square. The base is an octagonal hollow body with a closed bottom and is provided at every other top edges with a plurality of projected rods corresponding to through holes formed on the middle panel, such that the base is connected to the middle panel by engaging the projected rods with the through holes. The brick elements can be superposed on the projected rods of the middle panel and the projected rods of the base projecting from the through hole of the middle panel and on themselves to a desired or suitable height, such that a round, a square, or an octagonal sectional penholder can be formed.

Abstract: The present invention relates generally to an umbrella, and more particularly to an umbrella provided with improved control cords by which the automatic opening and the automatic closing of the umbrella are capable of being controlled, and under the improved control cords providing, they have only a few portions exposed and the outer ends are connected within the runner and hidden by an elastic ring. It is thus making sure for safety and a cover of the umbrella will not be easily broken as a prior one.
Abstract: A safety lock-set is provided which includes a main body, a socket and a bushing. The heat-treated socket is used not only to close off the lock-pin hole of the main body, but also to form a skirt for the spring and the back end of the latch. The heat-treated bushing is provided to sleeve over the connecting area of the set bar and the latch from the lock barrel side. The socket and the bushing connect together with a respective curved notch on each one, to form a closed connecting sleeve to protect the connecting areas of the latch and the spring and the set bar, in order to prevent someone from drilling through the lock-set.
