    Abstract: A method for testing a cooling system for use in a gas turbine engine control system is provided. The method includes connecting an inlet of the cooling system to a differential pressure sensor, connecting an outlet of the cooling system to the differential pressure sensor, and determining whether or not a difference in pressure exists between the inlet and outlet, wherein such a pressure difference is indicative of whether cooling fluid is flowing through the cooling system.

    Abstract: A vertical takeoff and landing aircraft (10) is provided including an aircraft fuselage (12). A plurality of hubs (20) are mechanically coupled to the fuselage (12) and are rotated by at least one engine (22). A plurality of tandem rotor/wings (14) are mechanically coupled to the plurality of hubs (20) and propel and lift the aircraft fuselage (12). A transitional lift wing (16) is mechanically coupled to the fuselage (12) and enables lift on the fuselage (12) during off-loading lift of the plurality of tandem rotor/wings (14). A main controller (24) is coupled to the plurality of tandem rotor/wings (14) and switches the plurality of tandem rotor/wings (14) between a vertical lift mode and a fixed wing mode. A method of performing the same is also provided.

A controller (62) is electrically coupled to the particle sensor (60) and the clean fluid parameter adjusting system (58). The controller (62) adjusting a fluid parameter of the inertial inlet particle separator (56) in response to the contamination signal. A method of performing the same is also provided.

A flight controller (20) is electrically coupled to the position sensor (42) and the plurality of vehicle performance sensors, and generates a control inceptor actuation signal by applying a tactile cueing model having a split detent and in response to the position signal and the plurality of vehicle performance signals. A method of performing the same is also provided.

    Abstract: A forebody 10 for an aeronautical vehicle 12 is provided. The forebody 10 includes an exterior wall 14 having a first half 16 and a second half 18. The first half 16 has a first porous section 20 and the second half 18 has a second porous section 24. The first half 16 and the second half 18 also have a first exterior side 22 experiencing a first fluidic pressure and a second exterior side 26 experiencing a second fluidic pressure, respectively. A hollow inner cavity 28 is fluidically coupled to the first exterior side 22 and the second exterior side 26 and allows fluid passage between the first exterior side 22 and the second exterior side 26 through the first porous section 20, the inner cavity 28, and the second porous section 24. The exterior wall 14 equalizes the first fluidic pressure with the second fluidic pressure. Additional forebodies and methods for performing the same are also provided.

    Abstract: A hay ring attachment device includes an enlongated vertically extending member having a top portion, a middle portion, and a lower portion, wherein an upper hay ring receiving assembly is fixedly secured to the top portion. A hay spear receiving assembly is adjustably positioned along the middle portion, and a lower hay ring receiving assembly is adjustably positioned along the lower portion. The hay ring attachment device enables an operator of the type of tractor commonly found on an agricultural farm to utilize a combination of both the three-point hydraulic hitch assembly and the hay spear of the type well known in the art to pick up, move, and lower a hay ring whether or not the hay ring is found to surround a hay bale when the pick-up process is initiated.
