  • Patent number: 6508120
Abstract: This invention discloses a fluid level monitor including a buoyant element suspended from a filament wound on a spool, a load sensor that senses a tensile force in the filament and a rotation sensor that senses the rotation of the spool around which the filament is wound, wherein the buoyant element is adapted to be initially at least partially submerged at an equilibrium position at an initial level of a fluid, thereby creating a nominal tensile force in the filament, wherein a change in the level of the fluid changes the tensile force in the filament, a positive change in the tensile force corresponding to a downward movement of the buoyant element and a negative change in the tensile force corresponding to an upward movement of the buoyant element, wherein the rotation of the spool corresponds to an amount of distance traveled by the buoyant element.

  • Patent number: 6416514
Abstract: Electrocoagulation apparatus including an array of more than two RF energized needles, and an RF generator for selectively energizing at least two of the needles so that energy passes therebetween. The needles may be arranged in rows, and the rows may be staggered. Alternatively, the needles may be arranged in a matrix of rows and columns. The needles may be generally equally spaced from each other or randomly arranged. Preferably the needles are spaced from each other corresponding to a width of a vein.

  • Patent number: 6386344
Abstract: A braking device including a chamber rotatably mounted on an axle, the chamber defining an inner cavity, a disc mounted on the axle in the inner cavity, the disc having opposing surfaces extending away from the axle, and a pourable material disposed in the inner cavity such that rotation of the chamber imparts a centrifugal force to the material, causing the material to be wedged between an inner surface of the inner cavity and the opposing faces so as to apply a braking force to the disc.

  • Patent number: 5764534
Abstract: A method of providing placement information during design entry is described which includes the steps of indicating an element type in an instance, identifying a port list for a specific element in the instance, and providing embedded placement information regarding the specific element in the instance. In one embodiment, the embedded placement information includes a cell location, whereas in another embodiment, the embedded placement information includes a block location. This method eliminates the need for a separate file with placement information, thereby improving user efficiency and significantly minimizing user error.
