Abstract: An automatic bagging machine is comprised of a discharge station for releasing one or more articles in an open top end of a plastic bag held thereunder. The machine is fed by a plurality of bags held side-by-side by a continuous top band portion. At the loading station, two clamping assemblies engage a respective top band portion at the top end of opposed side walls of the bag and a displacing mechanism moves the clamping assemblies on an angled path to a retracted position outwardly from one another on an angled path. Simultaneously a pivoting tension roll permits a predetermined length of the band portion and attached bag to be drawn towards the bag filling station to advance the plurality of bags whereby to permit the bag at the filling station to be opened by the two clamping assemblies. After the bag is filled it is displaced to a discharge station where the filled bag is disconnected from the continuous top band portions and released on a discharge conveyor.

Abstract: A method and a system for producing stereoscopic 3-dimensional images from a single motion picture video film having a plurality of frames containing successive images which are produced from a single video camera in motion. The motion picture video film is produced by displacing the camera along an axis with a viewing axis of the camera oriented substantially perpendicular to the axis of displacement of the camera. Images of the motion picture video film are overlaid or alternated in a synchronized fashion and separated by a time sequence to produce video signals of composite images capable of producing 3-dimensional images which can be viewed on a screen with eyeglasses having lenses conditioned to view separate ones of the overlaid or alternating images, simultaneously, whereby a viewer person can observe a depth of field in the composite images.

Abstract: A golf board game is comprised of a playing surface on which there is contained a plurality of designs representing golf links. Each golf link has a starting area, a fairway area and a green area. Distance indicating markers are provided on the fairway and green areas. At least one manually displaceable element is supportable on the playing surface. A first displacement indicating manually displaceable element is provided over the fairway area. A second displacement indicating element is also provided to cause displacement of the displaceable element towards an objective associated with the green area. Play money is associated with the golf game as well as a plurality of distinct groups of cards utilized to instruct a player under predetermined situations during play.

Abstract: A spout-fluid bed drying system and process is comprised of a spout-fluid bed dryer having a conical shaped lower section provided with a packing of heat exchange particles. A cyclone separator is connected to the top of the dryer with separated particles collected by a receiver connected to the leg of the cyclone. A vapor fan compresses the air-vapor mixture before it goes to the heat recuperator and mixing chamber. A tube-shell type heat exchanger, wherein effluent gases from the vapor fan are preheated with heat exchange with the outcoming high temperature gases. A combustion and incineration chamber wherein a natural gas burner is installed at the top and the high temperature flame is used to incinerate the effluent gases introduced from the annulus channel of the chamber to have the odors and VOCs destroyed.

Abstract: The apparatus for automatically removing ribs portion from belly of a beast flank, such as pork flank, comprises a conveyor provided with gripping hooks for holding the flank in position on the conveyor during ribs portion removing, a camera disposed over flank top surface showing ribs for generating image electrical signals representing an image of the flank top surface, a laser triangulation unit for generating surface profile data characterizing the flank top surface, a pair of lateral cameras for generating ribs thickness data for the ribs and analyzing device such as computer for receiving the image electrical signals, surface profile data and ribs thickness data for deriving therefrom a programmed cut profile according to a predetermined meat thickness to be left under the ribs.

Abstract: A liquid product carrying plastic film pouch (10) having a straw (12) free-floating in the liquid product (11) is described. The liquid product (11) contained within the inner chamber (13) of the pouch occupies from about 60% to about 90% of the volume of the inner chamber (13) of the pouch and a portion of air from the remaining volume is evacuated in sufficient quantity to permit the side walls (14,15) of the pouch to be collapsed against one another when the pouch is grasped by the hand of a user person. By collapsing the side walls (14,15) together the straw (12) located within the liquid can be grasped and manipulated to puncture the plastic film pouch (1) to extend a portion (12') of the straw (12) exteriorly of the pouch whereby to extract liquid therefrom.

Abstract: A method for removing nitrogen oxides NO.sub.x and volatile organic combustibles VOC's from impure air or gases is provided. The method includes the steps of admixing ammonia or other reducing gas to the feed of an incinerator, heating the gas to about 1000.degree. F., reacting the NO.sub.x with the reducing gas to form nitrogen gas and water, and further heating the gas to oxidize the VOC's and residual reducing gas with the oxygen present.

Abstract: A viscous fluid dispenser is provided including a housing enclosing a pressurizable viscous fluid reservoir connected to a collapsible measuring chamber. A valve is connected therebetween and can be activated to fill the chamber on demand. The dispenser will discharge a premeasured quantity of fluid either proximally or remotely and direct dispensing of unmeasured quantities without modification.

Abstract: There is provided an improved hopper feed elevator utilizing an endless conveyor passing through a bin containing parts to be elevated. A curved tunnel is juxtaposed to an opening at the bottom of the bin. The endless conveyor passes through the curved tunnel. The endless conveyors includes a plurality of curved cleats which closely conform to the shape of the tunnel so as to avoid jamming of the apparatus by the parts. One wall of the tunnel may be formed as a spring loaded back plate so that the cross section of the tunnel is made variable.

Abstract: There is provided an improved surgical drape in the form of a sheet having a fenestration therein through which a surgical procedure is performed. A score line is provided partially through the sheet from one outer edge thereof to the fenestration. The score line does not affect the sheet's capability of providing a sterile field. In procedures where a tube must remain in the site of the surgical procedure, the sheet may be easily severed along the score line by abruptly pulling the sides of the sheet separated by the score line. Thus the sheet may be removed from the patient without the need to cut the sheet with scissors.

Abstract: There is provided a clamp for securing a ladder to an aerial cable such as telephone cable. The clamp includes first and second slots for attaching the clamp to adjacent rungs on the ladder. The clamp includes a locking mechanism, having a swivelable portion so that when the aerial cable contacts the swivelable portion the cable becomes fixed securely to the clamp thus safely supporting the ladder against the aerial cable.

Abstract: There is provided a bench to facilitate the self-examination, shaving, and/or cleansing of the user's pubic area. The bench includes a cavity which is covered by an operable top. A light and a mirror are received in the cavity. The bench includes one or more foot supports. The mirror is mechanically linked to the top so that when the top is opened the mirror will move out of the cavity. The mirror is adjustable to permit the user to readily observe the pubic area.

Abstract: There is provided a passenger carrying aircraft having a cabin and outer walls. The aircraft includes a safety net located between the cabin and the outer walls. The safety net covers substantially the entire fuselage. If a part of the outer walls fails while the cabin is pressurized and detaches from the fuselage, the safety net will restrain the passengers from being sucked out of the cabin.

Abstract: There is provided an apparatus and method for removing odors from the air. The apparatus has a base with a candle mounted thereon and a container open at two ends located above the candle. The container houses activated charcoal. The candle causes the odor filled air to move through the container and thus through the activated charcoal by the chimney effect. Odors are removed from the air by the combustion of the candle, and by the activated charcoal and odors may also be masked by the scent of the candle.

Abstract: There is provided a mixture which preferably is a colloidal suspension of finely divided particles of a rare-earth oxide such as cerium oxide in a liquid. The liquid may be all water but also may include other materials such as acetic acid, 1,3-butanediol, methanol. The mixture is used as a wetting and suspending agent for opaque and build-up dental porcelains to primarily overcome the problem of discoloration of the porcelains when used with metal substrates made of dental alloys containing silver, and also to make the porcelains easier to handle and to work with.

Abstract: There is provided a pair of plates swivelably connected together forming a hinge. The hinge is used to join a pair of drape rods so that the drape rods may be mounted at various angles with respect to each other and presenting continuity at corners.

Abstract: There is provided an improved mouth prop for dental patients in the form of a tapered block made of pliable styrene material. A portion of one side of the block is concaved so as to more readily provide access to the patient's mouth and improve visibility. The block includes a pair of flanges extending from the top and bottom thereof on the cheek side to aid in stabilizing the block and to keep soft tissue away from the working area of the mouth and to channel saliva away from the working area.

Abstract: There is provided a blanket constructed of a woven rectangular panel with an upper portion for covering the user's torso and with a lower portion for covering the user's feet. The filler yarn is thicker in the lower portion than in the upper portion and the weave is also more dense in the lower portion. Thus the feet of the user will be better insulated than the user's torso.
