Patent number: 6161599Abstract: An actuator for facilitating filling of an aerosol contain by a button-on-filling process, the actuator comprising an exterior housing having an outer wall with a product discharge outlet formed therein. The exterior housing further having central post supporting an internal bore which establishes fluid communication between a product inlet and the product discharge outlet to facilitate dispensing an aerosol product via the actuator. At least two spaced apart reinforcement ribs are provided for interconnecting the exterior housing with the central post and thereby define at least two compartments where any remaining filling component may collect. A base of the exterior housing has an annular skirt portion which facilitates sealing engagement with a pedestal portion of a mounting cup during a filling operation.Type: GrantFiled: April 15, 1999Date of Patent: December 19, 2000Assignee: Summit Packaging Systems, Inc,Inventor: Jeremy P. Patent number: 6149876Abstract: A method and apparatus for reclamation of glycol based liquids used in gas dehydration. A first step involves providing an thermal oxidizer and a reboiler. A second step involves providing a dual stream valve having a first outlet, a second outlet and means for adjusting the relative flow through the first outlet and the second outlet. A third step involves placing the dual stream valve on an exhaust gas outlet of the thermal oxidizer and coupling the first outlet to an exhaust stack and the second outlet to the reboiler. The fourth step involves diverting through the second outlet of the dual stream valve such exhaust gases flowing through the exhaust gas outlet of the thermal oxidizer as may be required to provide heat necessary to operate the reboiler.Type: GrantFiled: August 27, 1998Date of Patent: November 21, 2000Assignee: Presson Manufacturing Ltd.Inventor: Anthony John Galloway

Patent number: 6055893Abstract: The machining unit is composed mainly of three essential elements which are the rotor, the phase displacement device and the tool drive mechanism. The rotor (100) includes a rotating shaft (1) and is equipped, for example, with four bores, extending parallel to the axis of rotation, into which the cutter carrier axles (9a, 9b, 9c and 9d) are supported. A plunge of the cutters into the material to be machined is controlled by the movement of a command sleeve (19) supporting, at its end, two surfaces (20a and 20b) of ellipsoidal form located to move, in conjunction with the inclined surfaces (14a, 14b, 14c and 14d), the command levers of the tool carrier. The command sleeve can occupy two extreme positions and one intermediary position. A phase displacement device includes a pulley (22) and a reverse pulley (25) mounted rotatably on a shaft (31) to allow angular phase change of the command sleeve (19) with respect to the spindle.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 1998Date of Patent: May 2, 2000Assignee: Esco S.A.Inventors: Pierre-Louis Piguet, Antonio Esposito

Patent number: 5967918Abstract: For a CVT (3) a regulating system is proposed in which a corrector is located upstream of the control path. The disturbances and non-linearities in the control path (28) are taken into account in the corrector, via a mathematical model, so that the regulator can be designed as a simple PID regulator.Type: GrantFiled: July 29, 1998Date of Patent: October 19, 1999Assignee: ZF Friedrichshafen AGInventors: Thomas Knapp, Wolfgang Danz

Patent number: 5732238Abstract: A non-volatile cache mechanism connected to a bus connected for conducting write addresses and data from a host computer to mass storage devices and to a volatile cache wherein each write operation includes a write address and at least one data word. The non-volatile cache mechanism includes a non-volatile memory constructed of a plurality of sub-memories having overlapping read/write cycles for storing the data words, a cache control responsive to the write operations for writing the data words into the nonvolatile memory in parallel with receipt of the data words into the volatile cache, and a cache index for storing index entries relating write addresses of write operations on the bus with corresponding storage addresses of the data words in the non-volatile memory.Type: GrantFiled: June 12, 1996Date of Patent: March 24, 1998Assignee: Storage Computer CorporationInventor: Andras Sarkozy

Patent number: 5720027Abstract: A redundant disk computer system providing targeted data broadcast on the data bus to a plurality of devices on the data bus, such as computer central memory and a plurality of storage media disks (parity and data) under control of a real time operating system. Each of the plural disk storage media is each connected to the data bus with a corresponding enhanced disk adapted including a demand page memory of size sufficient to include a selected block of data and arranged to provide access to a selected portion of that data. The redundant array computer operating system provides the control and selected designation of the disk adapters as targeted receivers to read data "broadcast" over the data bus, providing simultaneous transfer of data over the data bus. Each enhanced disk adapter further includes exclusive-OR logic thereon to provide direct calculation of parity from the newly received data and a subsequently received old data on a single subsequent data bus cycle.Type: GrantFiled: May 21, 1996Date of Patent: February 17, 1998Assignee: Storage Computer CorporationInventors: Andras Sarkozy, James Valentino

Patent number: 5567007Abstract: An infant safety seat for use in a motor vehicle, having a rigid seat back (12), is adapted to be mounted in a vehicle so that a seated occupant faces rearwardly. The side of the seat back (12) facing away from the occupant has a guide (30) for receiving a shoulder portion (24) of an adult seat belt and a clamp (28, 32) for inhibiting movement of the shoulder portion (24) of the adult seat belt relative to the seat back (12). A cover (40) is arranged, when in a closed position, to enclose the guide (30, 32) and to cause engagement of the clamp (26 28).Type: GrantFiled: March 2, 1995Date of Patent: October 22, 1996Assignees: Britax Romer Kindersicherheit GmbH, Britax-Excelsior LimitedInventors: Waldemar Czernakowski, Hermann Wetter, David W.
