Abstract: The present invention relates to a hydraulically controlled diaphragm pump, comprising an intermediate chamber filled with fluid, and a re-filling conduit for said chamber.According to the invention, means are provided for controlling the closing and the opening of the said conduit, which means are constituted by a valve cooperating with a fixed seat through which the said re-filling conduit reaches into the said intermediate chamber. Said valve is mounted for sliding on a rod, which rod is also mounted for sliding longitudinally inside a fixed support in the said intermediate chamber and traverses the said seat, a shoulder of the said rod forming means for moving the said valve and holding it on its seat, an actuating surface of the said rod, opposite the said shoulder, forming the rear of the diaphragm and a spring being coupled between the said support and the said actuating surface for closing the said valve. The invention finds an application in the field of mechanical engineering.
Abstract: An articulated pipe line comprising rigid sections jointed together so as to allow a limited angular movement between adjacent sections, the axis of two successive articulations having different directions and a sealing device ensuring a tight separation between the outside and the inside of the pipe line at the level of the articulation. This device is particularly suitable for immersed pipe lines of large diameter.
Abstract: A unitary structure for and a method which facilitates the construction of an arch-shaped passageway. The invention can be employed in conjunction with drywall construction materials and in a method to construct an arch-shaped passageway from a rectangular passageway.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a dismountable car for the technical coordination of rail-highway transport, wherein the car is adapted to support two identical loads and its chassis is in two elements respectively borne by the end bogies and provided with traction and buffer members, these two elements being connected in the median zone of the car by disconnectable connection means and their corresponding ends being adapted to be supported by retractable support devices which may rest via lower rail wheels on the rails and abut on these elements to maintain them substantially horizontal and lift or lower their free ends slightly.
Abstract: A turn-table for supporting a flat game board, the turn-table including a base portion which rests on a table or the like and a flat platform portion, pivotally supported on the base portion, and provided with a pair of spring clamps, one at each end of the platform, for engaging edge areas of the game board to hold the board securely on the platform. Adjustment of the clamp spacing to fit boards of different sizes can be effected either by relative movement of the parts of a two-piece platform or by relative movement of elongated clamps on the ends of a one-piece platform.
Abstract: A tape tensioning system for a tape recorder comprising a train of intermeshed gears supported by an elastically biased moving support which cooperates with support for the magnetic head and pinch roller support so as to move from a retracted inoperative position to an advanced operative position, wherein two outer gears of a train of gears are meshed with one of the reel driving toothed members in order to rotate the outer gears of the train in opposite directions to effect a tension in the associated tape being transported between the supply and take-up reels.
