  • Patent number: 6612142
Abstract: A safety deposit box lock assembly has a housing and latch bolt carried by the housing. The latch bolt is movable between a locked and an unlocked position relative to the housing. A guard lock is provided as part of the lock assembly and is movable by a guard key between an unsecured orientation and a secured orientation. The guard lock permits movement of the latch bolt to the unlocked position when the guard lock is in the unsecured orientation. The guard lock prohibits movement of the latch bolt to the unlocked position when the guard lock is in the secured orientation. A patron lock is provided as part of the lock assembly and is movable by a patron key between a latched orientation and an unlatched orientation. The latch bolt is in the locked position when the patron lock is in the latched orientation. The latch bolt is in the unlocked position when the patron lock is in the unlatched orientation.

  • Patent number: 6527518
Abstract: A water-powered sump pump that utilizes a relatively higher pressure water ported through a self-reversing valve to a reversible stroke power cylinder having a movable member mechanically coupled to a pumping chamber for movement of a movable pumping member in the pumping chamber, movement of the movable pumping member forcing sump water to a discharge. The volumes of the power cylinder and pumping chamber are different such that relatively high pressure, low volume flow to the power cylinder results in relatively high volume, low pressure flow from the sump pumping chamber. The discharge from the power cylinder is backflow prevented with respect to the discharge from the sump pumping chamber.

  • Patent number: 6503149
Abstract: A swing training and practice device for sports such as golf consisting of a length of substantially rigid hollow tubing having a grip at one end and a weight at the other end with a convoluted tube positioned interior of the substantially rigid tube extending into the length of the tube from adjacent the weighted end. The device, when swung produces an audible tone, the characteristics of which vary with the speed and trajectory of the swing. Production of a repetitive, constant tonal pattern thus indicates consistency of swing.

  • Patent number: 6428869
Abstract: A sheet or strip of discreet magnets disposed on a common backing and a method of manufacturing a plurality of discreet magnets detachably adhered to a common backing is provided. The method includes the passing of a magnetic substrate that is detachably adhered to a common backing in front of a die. The die is equipped with an internal ejector so that when the die is moved towards the substrate and the cutting edge of the die cuts the substrate, an internal ejector engages the cut portion of the substrate that forms a cut magnet. As the die is withdrawn from the substrate, the ejector maintains a pressing engagement against the cut magnet to prevent the cut magnet from being pulled off of the backing. A similar apparatus may be provided for a stripper disposed outside of the die to prevent waste substrate from being pulled off of the backing as the die is removed. Both the stripper and internal ejector are pulled off of the magnetic material after the die has been successfully removed.

  • Patent number: 6325594
Abstract: A sealed drain tool for a pump with a drain has a cylindrical tool housing. The housing has a mounting end for attaching the tool to the pump. The housing also has a free end and a bore extending longitudinally through the housing from the mounting end to the free end. The bore defines an inlet opening at the mounting end for communicating with the drain opening of the pump and has a free and opening at the free end. A plunger is slidably received within the bore. A stop element prevents the plunger from exiting the free end opening. A seal is provided between the plunger and bore adjacent the free end for preventing fluid from exiting the free end opening. A discharge opening in the tool housing permits fluid to pass from the drain of the pump through the inlet opening into the bore of the tool housing and to exit the tool housing through the discharge opening to a suitable container.

  • Patent number: 6261122
Abstract: A fixture lowering assembly for lowering fixtures, such as security and surveillance cameras, that require connection and disconnection of multiple complex electrical contacts is disclosed. The assembly includes a fixed housing that is mounted above ground level and a movable housing containing the fixture and being capable of being lowered to the ground level. A connect unit connects the fixed and movable housings and includes a latching assembly and first and second electrical connectors. The first and second connectors are each mounted on a pair of guide rods that extend through a pair of springs so that the first and second connectors freely float to facilitate connection and disconnection. The electrical connectors also include mounting bodies capable of receiving a variety of different electrical contact plates depending upon the type of fixture used with the lowering assembly. This construction of the contact plates also provides a moisture proof seal about the pins and sockets.
