  • Patent number: 7782975
Abstract: A system and method of carrier-less modulation is described in this disclosure that uses SAW filters as a modulator in addition to their conventional use as filters for band limiting an UWB system. This system and method is primarily designed to be used with any integer cycle, ultra-wide band or impulse type modulation and more particularly is designed to work with a method of modulation named xG Flash Signaling. This technique exploits the impulse response of the SAW filter by exciting the filter with a narrow pulse train producing a carrier-less impulse radio system with limited bandwidth, low average power, but high peak power.

  • Patent number: 7421828
Abstract: A method for constructing factory prefabricated and finished load bearing wall panels and monolithic ceiling/floor sections and modules comprised of the same for use in a single family or single story building as well as a multi-level and multi-unit building. The integrally formed wall panels are constructed of modified steel studs, rigid insulating material, and metal lathe and are factory finished with plaster or stucco like material. A void is defined by the modified steel studs window casings and door jambs. Upon erection and assembly at the job site, steel rebar is placed in such voids that are then filled with concrete, thereby eliminating the need for any additional concrete form work.

  • Patent number: 6275196
Abstract: A parabolic horn antenna designed for use as a high isolation antenna array in a wireless Internet access system where a high concentration of transceivers at one location is required. The rear, reflecting surface of the horn part of the antenna is a parabolic shape with the probe located at the focal point of the parabola. The sides of the antenna in the broad dimension are angled at an optimum degree increasing the opening aperture allowing the system to capture more RF energy. The length, therefore the aperture width is variable providing control over the gain of the system thus providing effective shielding and isolation for more dense antenna arrays.

  • Patent number: 6245733
Abstract: A pre-glass agglomeration fragrance delivery system comprising fused microspheres and a fragrance incorporated therein. The pre-glass agglomeration has an extended fragrance release time exceeding a year and a half, and uses microcapillary action to quickly uptake oils and alcohols. The pre-glass agglomeration provides a slow release of fragrance without the escape of any residual liquid. The pre-glass agglomeration may be replenished, an unlimited number of times, with fragrance containing oils and alcohols after the odor fades. The pre-glass agglomerations can be molded and may be colored or dyed.

  • Patent number: 6212316
Abstract: The Stand-Off Matched Index optical interface reduces optical reflections thereby increasing return losses that occur when an optical waveguide, including optical fiber, is interfaced to a bulk media of significantly differing refractive index. A small spacer material, or stand-off, is placed between the waveguide and the media. The stand-off is index-matched to the waveguide thereby eliminating reflections from this interface. The length of the stand-off is chosen so the reflections from the stand-off/media interface are weakly coupled back to the waveguide due to diffraction and attenuation losses within the stand-off. This invention can be used in most situations where an optical fiber must be interfaced to a material of significantly different refractive index and is applicable to both multi-mode and single-mode fibers. And, it is generally applicable to any focal plane in an optical system that coincides with a refractive index discontinuity which results in troublesome back reflections.

  • Patent number: 6186904
Abstract: A weighted sport training assembly used to overload the muscles while making sport specific movements during sport training. The principle can be applied to several sports implements such as a golfclub, a tennis or squash racquet, hockey stick, baseball bat, and other similar sports devices. The Golf Swing Training Club is an assembly of golfclub pieces and weights combined to offer an individual training a golf swing, or performing exercises that are either technical in nature, or fitness related, the opportunity to change the shape, length, or weight of the club by adding an extension shaft and inserting a variety of weights into the assembly.

  • Patent number: 6116426
Abstract: An emergency medical kit having a container with a hinged lid and a latch for use in organizing and protecting ophthalmic instruments and supplies, such as sterilized pads, drugs, extractors, lights, ointments, tape and other items needed by a physician or emergency personnel working under the auspices of a physician in rendering emergency medical assistance to a person suffering an eye injury. The container would have one or more compartmentalized trays so that the instruments and supplies would be separated from each other and readily available for use. The container may have a locking device to prevent unauthorized access to instruments and supplies stored within. The container would be lightweight and compact, so that it is readily portable and easily stored.

  • Patent number: 6102758
Abstract: The Near Shore Spar Buoy Communication Platform is a semi-stable platform for data collection and retrieval for distances up to and over several miles offshore. It is an ocean-going computer housed in a modified spar buoy which is connected to a shore computer via a wireless Ethernet LAN. The Ethernet LAN is provided through use of wireless link technology capable of 2 to 11 megabits of bi-directional throughput and is expandable to higher data rates in the future. The platform behaves much like a spar buoy, which is essentially decoupled from waves and has a very small roll motion. An anti-heave appendage allows for the decrease of the heave motion normally associated with traditional spar buoys. The platform has a airfoil-like design which allows it to align itself with the current thus decreasing the overall yaw motion commonly associated with buoy communication platforms.

  • Patent number: 6088700
Abstract: A global information network forms completion data processing system uses data stored in a database to automatically fill out data fields of the various and multiple forms displayed on the WEB browsers of users who are engaged in commerce, dealing with governmental agencies, or otherwise attempting to complete transactions over the global information network. The data processing system retrieves tagged information previously entered and stored in a database, and automatically inserts the data in similarly tagged uncompleted fields of any number and variety of forms. The fully completed forms are then transmitted to the parties requesting the information and are stored for later retrieval, updating and printing by the user.

  • Patent number: 5938882
Abstract: The method of removing an epoxy bonded microelectronic component from a substrate includes the steps of heating a removal tool comprising a blade portion. The heated blade portion engages against the cured epoxy positioned around the edge of the component, and the epoxy is removed. The blade portion is positioned between an edge of the component and an adjacent portion of the substrate to lift the component from the substrate. A screwdriver receiving tip can also be attached to the removal tool. The screwdriver receiving tip includes an orifice that receives a screwdriver shaft that is freely rotatable therein. The removal tool is heated, thereby heating the screwdriver receiving tip and screwdriver shaft so that any screw to be removed is heated and removed. A tool is also disclosed for removing the microelectronic component from a substrate. The tool includes a removal tool comprising a proximal body and a distal heating end.
