Abstract: A front adapter plate has its upper end mounted on the pivot pin which pivotally secures the rod end of a front hydraulic cylinder of a side-dump body. A front mount is adjustably vertically secured to the front adapter plate and has a pivot pin extending forwardly therefrom. A rear adapter plate has its upper end mounted on the pivot pin which pivotally secures the rod end of a rear hydraulic cylinder of the side-dump body. A rear mount is adjustably vertically secured to the rear adapter plate and has a pivot pin extending rearwardly therefrom. The inner ends of front and rear swing arms of a tarp system are pivotally mounted on the pivot pins of the front and rear mounts respectively.
Abstract: An axle suspension system for a load-bearing vehicle is described which comprises first and second mounting brackets secured to the longitudinally extending frame members of the vehicle. First and second lower control arms are pivotally secured at their forward ends to the first and second mounting brackets and extend rearwardly therefrom. First and second axle supports are positioned rearwardly of the first and second mounting brackets and have the rearward ends of the first and second lower control rods pivotally secured thereto. An axle and wheel assembly is secured to the first and second axle supports. First and second air springs are operatively secured to the first and second axle supports. A stabilizer bar assembly is provided and combines the functions of a stabilizer bar and upper control arms.

Abstract: A handhole cover for a utility pole includes a cover plate having a pivotal latch bar positioned inwardly therefrom. A rotatable bolt interconnects the cover plate and the latch bar in such a way so that the clockwise rotation of the bolt, during installation, will cause the latch bar to move from a vertically disposed position to a horizontally disposed position. Further counterclockwise rotation of the bolt will draw the latch bar into engagement with the inner end of a lip positioned in the access opening. The design of the invention not only permits easy installation of the cover plate over the access opening of the utility pole, but also permits easy removal of the cover plate from the access opening. The design also deters theft and vandalism.
Abstract: An ankle-foot orthosis comprising a generally L-shaped member including a lower leg support having a U-shaped cross section, a U-shaped heel support portion and a foot support portion. The lower leg support portion partially embraces the rearward side of the lower leg of the patient while the heel support portion embraces a portion of the patient's heel. A total contact ankle support having an upper end, a lower end and opposite sides is pivotally secured, at the lower ends thereof, to the opposite sides of the heel support portion with the ankle support being movable between open and closed positions. The ankle support may be moved to its open position to enable the patient to easily don the orthosis. A first connector, retainer or strap extends between the opposite sides of the lower leg portion, above the ankle support, to maintain the patient's leg therein.
Abstract: A telescopic boom-mounted concrete pump is provided wherein a telescoping boom assembly is pivotally and rotatably mounted on the platform of the truck. The boom assembly includes inner, intermediate and outer boom members. A first concrete conduit which is in fluid communication with a source of pressurized concrete is mounted at one side of the inner boom member for movement therewith. A normally U-shaped flexible concrete hose has its inlet end thereof connected to the discharge end of the first concrete conduit. A rigid concrete conduit has its inlet end connected to the discharge end of the flexible concrete hose. A jib boom member in the form of a concrete discharge conduit is pivotally and rotatably connected to the outer end of the outer boom member and is in fluid communication with the rigid concrete conduit. The jib boom member is secured to and is positioned within a lattice truss. A winch is selectively removably secured to the outer end of the lattice truss.
Abstract: A support pole having a traffic signal support arm secured thereto wherein the connection between the lower end of the support pole and its base plate is strengthened by the use of a strengthening ring welded thereto and also wherein the connection of the support arm to the support pole is strengthened through the use of a strengthening ring provided at the inner end of the support arm. The connections described above also enhance the fatigue strength of the support pole.
Abstract: A concrete block tong assembly which is designed to lift and transport a plurality of concrete blocks. The assembly is provided with three top support members pivotally connected at one end thereof to one end of three bottom support members. A lifting apparatus is operatively connected to the top three support members whereupon upward movement of the top three support members by the lifting mechanism will cause the top support members to pivot with respect to the bottom support members. A front plate is secured to one end of each of the top support members for movement therewith and a back plate is longitudinally adjustably secured to each of the bottom support members adjacent the other end thereof. A solenoid operated locking bolt is selectively movably mounted within each of the top support members and has an actuator rod which is movable between extended and retracted positions.
Abstract: A device for increasing and measuring the speed of a golf, tennis or batting swing comprising an elongated, hollow metal tube having a gripping portion provided at one end thereof. A swing speed or velocity indicator is positioned in the other end of the tube with the scaled thereof being visible through a slot formed in the wall of the tube.
Abstract: A hay saver insert is adapted to be removably positioned on and within a conventional cylindrical hay feeder. The insert includes an upper end portion which rests upon the upper end of the conventional feeder and a conical-shaped portion which extends downwardly into the interior of the feeder. Hay is placed within the insert and the animals have access thereto. Hay being pulled from the insert by the animals may fall into the area between the conical-shaped portion of the insert and the interior of the feeder which prevents the hay from being trampled.

Abstract: A space-saver workbench is disclosed which is pivotally movable between a work position wherein the table thereof is in a horizontal position to a stored position wherein the table portion thereof is in a vertically disposed position. A pair of springs are operatively connected to the table portion to provide a lift assist for moving the table portion from its horizontal position to its vertically disposed position. The springs also assist in maintaining the table portion in its stowed position. When the table portion is in the stowed position, it is spaced outwardly from a wall or the like sufficient so that the table portion will not interfere with tools hanging on a pegboard positioned adjacent the table portion.

Abstract: A concrete railroad grade crossing comprised of a precast concrete gauge panel extending between the rails and precast concrete approach panels which extend between each rail and the roadway. Elastomeric gauge seals are provided on the opposite sides of the gauge panels for sealing the space between the sides of the gauge panels and the rails. Elastomeric approach seals are provided on the inner ends of the approach panels for engagement with the outer sides of the rails. The inner ends of the seals have lobes formed therein which are embedded in the respective panels.

A lower deck is secured to the floor of the vane and an upper deck is pivotally mounted above the lower deck and which may be moved between upper and lower positions with respect to the lower deck by means of a parallelogram-type connection controlled by electric actuators.

Abstract: A self-propelled irrigation machine including an elongated main boom pivoted at one end to a center pivot and supported on a plurality of self-propelled, non-steerable drive units. An extension boom is pivotally secured to the other end of the main boom for irrigating corner areas of the field. A steerable drive tower supports the extension boom and includes a pair of steerable drive wheels. The guidance and control for the extension boom includes a UWB receiver and a computer positioned on the steerable drive tower for receiving and processing UWB information as to the location of the steerable drive tower and for determining the optimal steer angle for the steerable drive wheels relative to the movement of the main boom. At least one UWB transmitters are located within receiving range of the UWB receiver. Signals transmitted by the UWB transmitters are received by the UWB receiver on the steerable drive unit and are used to determine current location and optimal steer angles relative to the main boom.
Abstract: An apparatus for producing compost tea wherein compost material is passed through a separator housing in such a manner so that microorganisms on the compost material is washed from the compost material and is delivered to a separator tank positioned below the separator housing. The wash water from the separator tank is recirculated through the apparatus until the desired concentration of microorganisms has been achieved.
Abstract: A hitch-mounted umbrella support is provided for use with a vehicle having a hitch receiver at the rearward end thereof. A hitch bar is selectively receivably mounted in the receiver and has a clevis secured to its rearward end. A support bar is selectively adjustably pivotally secured to the clevis and extends therefrom. The inner end of the support bar has a plurality of longitudinally spaced-apart openings formed therein which are adapted to be selectively registered with a plurality of longitudinally spaced-apart openings formed in the clevis. A U-shaped locking pin is extended between the clevis and the support bar to lock the support bar in various positions with respect to the hitch bar. A hollow tube is secured to the outer end of the support bar and receives the pole of the umbrella therein. The umbrella may be pivotally moved from side to side with respect to the vehicle and may be moved towards the vehicle or away from the vehicle.
Abstract: A support pole including a base having a hollow shaft secured thereto. The base is attached to the footing and includes a plate portion having a generally cylindrical portion extending upwardly therefrom. The bottom surface of the plate portion has a cut-out portion formed therein which communicates with the central opening formed in the base. A hollow shaft is inserted into the central opening in the base so that the lower end thereof is substantially flush with the bottom surface of the plate portion. The shaft is secured to the base by a weldment in the cut-away portion. The shaft is also secured to the base by means of an enlarged diameter portion or protrusion formed in the shaft immediately above the upper end of the base. The base may also be comprised of a flat plate portion without the cylindrical portion. Further, the base may have a square portion extending upwardly therefrom to accommodate a square pole. If a square pole is being used, the central opening in the base plate will be square.
