  • Patent number: 7087161
Abstract: A resin cultivating base serves as seedling beds for vegetation which are planted and are partially immersed in a river, lake, marsh, pond or waterway. The resin cultivating base is a three-dimensional structure constituted by long and short filaments of thermoplastic resin. The long and short filaments are curled or looped at random, and contacted, entwined and gathered, thereby forming a low density portion and a high density portion. Vegetables planted on the low density portion of the resin cultivating base suck nutritious salt such as phosphor and nitride. Microorganisms living in the resin cultivating base decompose organisms in the water, thereby purifying the water.

  • Patent number: 6781392
Abstract: A modularized probe card comprising an interface board, a probe head and at least a compressible electrical connection device is disclosed. The compressible electrical connection device comprises an insulation layer with a plurality of circuits on one of its surface. Two ends of each circuit connect respectively to the first contacting pad and the second contacting pad which combine with elastic contact members. Each elastic contact member has a supporter combining with a conductive layer for electrical connections by pushing and compressing. While a probe head is modularized installed on an interface board, the elastic contact members of the compressible electrical connection device is elastically contacted and compressed the probe head and the interface board to acquire modularized electrical connection of the probe card.

  • Patent number: 6755756
Abstract: A device comprises an elastomer, and a metal ball which is contained in a cell of the interior of the elastomer. The elastomer is provided in the periphery with one or more slits by which the elastomer is fastened to the strings of a tennis racket. The elastomer in itself is capable of absorbing shock and deadening noise. As the strings of the tennis racket are impacted by a ball, the metal ball is activated by the impact force to vibrate at a high frequency in the cell of the elastomer. The high-frequency vibration of the metal ball serves to absorb shock and deaden noise.

  • Patent number: 6744514
Abstract: The invention relates to a process and a device for detecting or recognizing an object by means of color recognition or brightness evaluation, whereby radiation emitted by a radiation source on the object and radiation reflected from the object is recorded by a photosensitive element such as a color-recognizing sensor. In order to be able to detect objects with a higher measuring exactitude, whereby changes in distance between object and light-sensitive element should not basically lead to a measurement falsification, it is suggested that reflected radiation be guided to the photosensitive element by means of a light-guiding element tapering in the direction of the photosensitive element.

  • Patent number: 6736010
Abstract: Process and apparatus for displaying, measuring the size of and counting individual inclusions in suspension in moving liquid metal using an ultrasound sensor including emission and reception devices. Using the emission device, a series of ultrasound beam pulses is emitted within the liquid metal, and echoes reflected by the inclusions are received using the reception device. The reflected echoes are successively acquired and processed, and displayed as images which are analyzed to count and measure the diameter of inclusions. The sensor is calibrated by selectively placing in a path defined by the beam pulses at least one control reflector having predetermined dimensions and a geometry stable over time, successively acquiring and processing reflected echoes from the control reflector, displaying the reflected echoes from the control reflector as images, and analyzing the control reflector echo images to determine a relationship between amplitude of the images and the control reflector dimensions.

  • Patent number: 6719021
Abstract: A funnel with a liquid level index is provided beneath the neck thereof with a plurality of extension rods, and a plurality of openings are formed between every two extension rods; an indicator with a floating member and an upper shank is provided under the neck within the extension rods. The indicator is provided on the top end thereof with an easy identified index; thereby, when the funnel is added with solution-up to a level fully filling a container, the bottom floating member of the indicator is raised to move the index on the indicator; by raising of the index, a user determines whether the container is fully filled with liquid or determines the degree of fullness of liquid.

  • Patent number: 6715257
Abstract: An improved construction member or joist is disclosed that includes upper and lower chords connected by various members including first and second trimmable webs at either end thereof, which webs include end portions received in grooves in the upper and lower chords. Significantly, the profile of the end portions of the webs includes at least one notch or ridge that fits within a corresponding notch or ridge in the chord to provide a more secure attachment, even under unusual loading conditions. Supplemental webs are also provided that can be attached to the member at various locations to provide an additional degree of support only where needed.

  • Patent number: 6712088
Abstract: A counter-flow prevention valve is disposed within a body of a pilot-type channel valve. While electrical power is applied to a solenoid coil and the pilot-type channel valve is opened, i.e., while a gas is flowing through the counter-flow prevention valve and the gas is expanding, heat generated by the application of electrical power to the solenoid coil is conducted via the body and is effectively transferred to the counter-flow prevention valve. Therefore, even if the gas contains water vapor and even if this gas is cooled due to significant expansion, the water vapor can be prevented from freezing within the counter-flow prevention valve. Moreover, the volume of the pipe between the pilot-type channel valve and the counter-flow prevention valve is small, thereby resulting in a fast rise in pressure within the pipe and a quick opening of the counter-flow prevention valve, which provides an excellent valve-opening response.

  • Patent number: 6703075
Abstract: A wafer treating method for making adhesive dies is provided. A liquid adhesive with two-stage property is coated on a surface of a wafer. Then, the wafer is pre-cured to make the liquid adhesive transform a thermo-bonding adhesive film having B-stage property which has a glass transition temperature not less than 40° C. for handling without adhesive under room temperature. After positioning the wafer, the wafer is singulated to form a plurality of dies with adhesive for die-to-die stacking, die-to-substrate or die-to-leadframe attaching.

  • Patent number: 6689269
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for electrochemically processing a workpiece (61) in which a pulsating or alternating electrical voltage is applied between the workpiece and a workpiece electrode (62) which are arranged at a distance from one another in an electrolyte. A distance range is defined by precisely dimensioning the mean value of the applied pulsating voltage and of the voltage amplitudes measured with regard to this mean value. A double layer charge reversal on the workpiece which is sufficient for bringing about the desired electrochemical reaction results within said distance range, whereas workpiece areas situated at further distances do not experience a sufficient double layer charge reversal. The dimensions of the space between the workpiece and the workpiece electrode are proportioned in such a way that only points of the area of the workpiece to be processed lie within said distance range.
