Abstract: The invention concerns a device for projecting a linear optical marking onto at least one boundary of a room, such as floor surface for example, comprising a light source (12) that emits laser radiation along an optical axis (16) as well as a cuboid lens (14) connected in series with the light source, penetrated by the optical axis and reflecting as well as refracting the radiation. To facilitate fanning and reflecting of light originating from the light source through constructively simple means, the invention proposes that provided in the frontal surface (20) is a channel-shaped depression (40) and provided in the rear surface (22) is a projection (24), both of which are geometrically designed and arranged so that the radiation can be totally reflected and that totally reflected radiation striking the depression can be fanned out, where the optical marking runs to both transverse surfaces of the lens.

Abstract: Fuel pump (10)comprises a casing (18) and an impeller (20). A group of concavities (20a) are formed in an upper or a lower face of the impeller. A groove (24) communicating a discharge hole (25) is formed in a inner face of the casing. The groove has an opening portion (27e) that directly communicates with the discharge hole. The opening portion is shaped so as to extend in the rotation direction of the impeller, within a span extending from a position corresponding to substantially the central position of the concavities of the impeller, in the radial direction thereof, to a position corresponding to substantially the outer peripheral edge of the concavities of the impeller. Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel sustained-release oral galenical form of molsidomine for the treatment of all forms of angina attack (angina of effort, spastic angina, mixed angina). Abstract: A planar light source has a light emitting source, and a light guide plate for receiving light beams emitted from the light emitting source at a front side thereof and changing direction of the light beams, discharging the light beams from an upper surface thereof. A first anisotropic diffusion surface is formed on a lower surface of the light guide plate, and a reflection member is provided on the first anisotropic diffusion surface. Abstract: Methods and compositions for the prevention and treatment of recent and old dermatitis, especially psoriasis, using lecithin or a lecithin-rich extract. According to one embodiment, phospholipids constituting the lecithin are esterified by Omega 3-type polyunsaturated fatty acids, in particular by docosahexaensic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) or by an alkyl glycerol. The lecithin can be of marine origin, extracted from a marine organisms such as fish, shrimp, krill, zooplankton, algae, and phytoplankton, which are advantageous in that their phospholipids, especially phosphatidylcholine, are naturally esterified by Omega 3 fatty acids, and essentially by DHA and EPA.
Abstract: The invention relates to the design and processing of a semiconductor optical device. The device is formed of at least four layers of III-V compounds in which one consists of the penternary AlGaInAsSb material. The structure is wet etched in order to form optical ridge waveguides. One such device has incorporated two waveguides which are connected through a new junction design which can be made by wet etching. In one design the junction and waveguides consists of wet etched AlO.90GaO.10AsSb cladding around a core of AlO.28GaO.72AsSb in which an active layer composed of AlO.22InO.22GaO.55AsSb/InO.29GaO.71AsSb quantum wells is embedded. The resulting device is a erdge junction laser which has single mode emission and emits a narrow line width. We made and tested a device in the 2.34 müm to 2.375 müm wavelength area and found it to have an emission line width of around 0.5 nm.
Abstract: The present invention, which is applicable in the pharmaceutical industry, relates to the use of molsidomine or one of its pharmaceutically acceptable salts, especially in the form of a sustained-release solid oral composition effective over 24 hours, for the manufacture of a drug for preventing or reducing the development of atherosclerosis.

Abstract: Buoyancy unit for use on a riser for sub sea applications, particularly for great depths, with a clamp 11 to be tensioned around the riser 16, and with a tensioning member 18 to damp the clamp 11. Buoyancy bodies 26, 27 are provided to engage with the clamp 11, said clamp 11 having at least one arched element 12-15 providing an annular structure to enclose the riser and to be pressed thereto with a tensioning strap 18. The buoyancy bodies 26, 27 are attached to the arched segments, The clamp 11 is cast from of a concrete material where at least the outer shell or layer is provided to prevent the intrusion of water, the casting of the clamp preferably containing powdered aplite.
Abstract: A support for structural components that are subjected to a thermal treatment process. The support includes a frame having limbs and extending therefrom a grid of intersecting strands. In order to prevent the support from warping even when subjected to strong thermal loads or variations in temperature, the frame is produced from a temperature-resistant material and the strands are produced from carbon fibers or ceramic fibers that form the grid, extending from the limbs of the frame.

Abstract: A fuel-feeding device may preferably include a pressure control valve capable of controlling a pressure of pressurized fuel that includes a housing having an inner cavity, a first movable dividing wall, a second movable dividing wall, a valve unit and a resilient member. The first and second movable dividing walls divide the housing cavity to a pressure controlling chamber, a back pressure chamber, and an open chamber positioned between the pressure controlling chamber and the back pressure chamber. The second movable dividing wall is arranged and constructed to move to a retracted position or an advanced position depending upon whether back pressure fuel is introduced into the back pressure chamber, thereby setting the resilient member to two different set loads.

Abstract: Tocopherol derivatives having the general formula: wherein n is an integer of 6 to 13, R1 is hydrogen, a silyl ether or acetate, R2 is an optionally substituted nitrogen-containing heterocycle or a polycyclic nitrogen-containing heterocycle; and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof are provided. A method for synthesizing the compounds is also provided. The tocopherol derivatives are capable of inhibiting the primary enzyme responsible for the metabolism of the tocopherols and tocotrienols compounds of vitamin E, namely tocopherol-?-hydroxylase, and thus increase the amount and prolong the availability of these compounds in plasma and tissue.
