  • Patent number: 5658205
Abstract: A golf club aligning aid is provided which allows a golfer to quickly improve his or her golf swing. The aligning aid can be a small strip of flexible material which can be disposed with a planar "flag" portion which is disposed perpendicular to the shaft of the club. This planar portion can be rotated about the shaft for proper alignment with respect to the leading edge of the face of the golf club head. Preferably, the aligning aid is attached on or near the handle of the club by being snugly wrapped around the shaft and attached to itself, such as by a hook and loop fastener. In one embodiment, the aligning aid also has a graphical design disposed on one end of the planar portion. The graphical design has a first axis which, when the aid is attached to the clubs is perpendicular to the shaft of the golf club and a second axis designed to be disposed parallel to the shaft of the club. The ratio of the length of the second axis to the length of the first axis is between about 0.25 and about 0.75.

  • Patent number: 5564595
Abstract: An automatic chemical dispensing system is provided wherein a preselected quantity of liquid chemical drawn from one of several storage vessels is dispensed to one of several different receptacles using a single operating pump. The system includes a single remote controllable operating pump, remote controllable inlet and discharge valves, a single flow indicator and a liquid flush system. The system is controlled by a computerized controller. Piping linking the storage vessels, the pump and the receiving vessels is configured so that the operating pump draws a requested chemical from the appropriate storage vessel and pumps that chemical into a discharge header located between the pump and the receiving vessel. As the operating pump pumps the chemical into the discharge header, flow through the header is noted on the single flow indicator.

  • Patent number: 5529309
Abstract: A method for playing a card game is set forth wherein a dealer deals an initial hand of two cards to himself and each of a plurality of players. Depending upon the count of his initial hand, the dealer draws a third card, stands or exposes his hand; the third card altering the dealer's count. Then each player in succession opts to stand or take a third card, however drawing a third card is precluded where the dealer's initial hand has a count of 8 or 9 or, if drawn, the dealer's third card is a 9. Upon completion of the dealer's and players' play, each player's hand is resolved against the dealer's to determine wins, losses and ties. The game also provides for player side bets for non-zero ties.

  • Patent number: 5483754
Abstract: The invention relates to the heat treatment of continuously moving length of textile material in a treatment apparatus with at least two successive treatment zones by means of hot gas. After it has been heated, all of the exhaust gas from the first treatment zone is introduced into the second treatment zone as fresh gas. An exhaust gas branch stream drawn off at the end of the second treatment zone is afterburned. The exhaust gas branch stream which has been heated in this way first of all preheats the second exhaust gas branch stream coming from the second treatment zone, and before being discharged into the atmosphere the exhaust gas branch stream coming from the first treatment zone and the fresh air air heated. In this way extremely economic operation of the entire treatment apparatus is provided, with reliable purification and disposable of the exhaust gas.

  • Patent number: 5456482
Abstract: A bicycle frame for bicycles with an upper cross bar is provided wherein the upper cross bar does not injure the rider as the rider straddles the cross bar after a stop. The bicycle frame also has an upper cross bar comprising an inner moiety slidably disposed within an outer moiety such that the first end of the inner moiety is outside the outer moiety. A spring is disposed within the upper cross bar to urge the second end of the inner moiety away from the outer moiety. The front end of the upper cross bar is hinged to the head post and the rear end of the upper cross bar is slidably attached to the seat post. A second spring is attached to the frame and adapted to urge the upper cross bar upwards. The springs are chosen so that no discomfort is caused to a rider of a bicycle having the bicycle frame when the rider dismounts the bicycle, straddles the upper cross bar and, by the weight of the rider's body, pivots the rear end of the upper cross bar downward until both feet of the rider touch the ground.
