Abstract: A method for providing power control to a uplink signal, comprising an uplink station transmitting an uplink signal to a satellite. The satellite also transmits a loopback signal representing the received uplink signal back to the uplink station. The satellite also transmits a beacon signal to the uplink station. The uplink station adjusts the power of the uplink signal based on measurements of the beacon signal and the uplink signal.

Abstract: A display apparatus for displaying a clip-on sunglass, sunglass or other product and a method of assembling the display apparatus. In one embodiment, a closable case is removably attached to a product card, wherein the product card includes product information and an aperture for handing the display apparatus on a display case. The closable case may be closable and removably attached to the product card with a fastener, wherein one portion of the fastener is mounted to the body of the closable case, while the other portion is mounted to the body of the closable case and to a perforated portion of the product card, thus allowing the closable case to be removed from the product card and used as a case for clip-ons, sunglasses or any other product.
Abstract: The invention provides light-blocking air vents for eyewear. A frame for the eyewear has a brow web that extends approximately horizontally from a top portion of the frame. The brow web includes at least one ventilation aperture having a internal side that is substantially sloped with respect to a top surface of the brow web. One or more lenses are mounted to the frame. Air is allowed to pass through the aperture. However, by providing that the internal side of the aperture is substantially sloped, light is blocked from entering through the aperture. The brow web may include a plurality of ventilation apertures for each of two lenses mounted to the frame. The apertures for each lens are arranged substantially equally-spaced in a row. A lower web may also be provided that includes one or more ventilation apertures. Side lenses may also be provided along with apertures for ventilating the side lenses.
Abstract: A current inrush limiting technique for a switching power converter. In one aspect, a switching power converter includes a main power switch and a current sensor. When the input current exceeds a first threshold, the main power switch is opened. When the input current exceeds a second threshold, higher than the first threshold, a current-limiting resistance is coupled to receive the input current. Accordingly, the input current is limited in two stages by two different techniques. In another aspect, a bleed resistor receives current from a power source for providing power to a controller for the power converter. After start-up, such as when an output voltage of the power converter is available to provide power to the controller, the current-limiting resistor is shorted and the bleed resistor is effectively removed. A single pin of an integrated circuit controller controls shorting of the current-limiting resistor and removal of the bleed resistor.
