  • Patent number: 7925545
Abstract: Quotes entered into an automated trading system may comprise a visible, or primary, amount, and a linked or hidden amount. The visible amount only is shown to other traders on the system but part or all of the linked amount may be dealt if the order with with the quote is match is for an amount greater than the visible amount. If, after matching and deal confirmation, all the visible amount has been dealt, but some or all of the linked amount remains, a fresh order for the remaining linked amount is generated and submitted to the trading system for matching. The new quoted may be visible only or may have a visible component up to a limit specified by the maker on submission of the original quote, with the remainder being linked. Maker quotes converted to taker quotes by an auto-match routine may be resubmitted for undealt linked amounts in the same way. In one aspect of the invention, linked amounts are matched and dealt before visible amounts.

  • Patent number: 7714903
Abstract: An image capture system is presented where the dynamic range of photo imaging devices, such as a still or video camera, is increased by varying sensor exposure time on a pixel-by-pixel basis under digital camera processor control. The systems photo sensors are continuously illuminated without reset over the exposure interval. In addition to being interrogated at the end of the exposure interval, the pixels are also non-destructively interrogated at one or more intermediate times during the interval. At each interrogation, the image capture system determines individually whether the pixels have saturated and if not, the parameter value is recorded; if the pixel has saturated, the previously stored value from the preceding interval is maintained. To produce the final sensor value for the whole exposure interval, the data for pixels that reached the saturation level are adjusted to compensate for their shortened exposure.

  • Patent number: 7391161
Abstract: A series-connected string of light bulbs, operating on AC voltage, each having connected thereacross a voltage regulating shunting circuit which regulates the voltage across an empty or otherwise inoperative socket so as to maintain unidirectional current across each of the remaining sockets in the string during one-half of an AC cycle, thereby insuring continuous but dimmed illumination of the light string. The voltage regulating shunting circuit of the present invention is a silicon rectifier diode connected in series with a voltage regulating diode. The voltage regulating diode may be an array of silicon diodes or a Zener diode. The voltage regulating shunting circuit can be mass produced by using conventional manufacturing techniques.

  • Patent number: 7102966
Abstract: A lens actuator includes a lens holder to support an objective lens and having a pair of first side surfaces in a tracking direction and a pair of second side surfaces in a tangential direction, a fixed magnet disposed to confront the second side surface and comprising four regions having approximately the same area and are magnetic, such that magnetic directions of the four regions are perpendicular to a plane including a focusing direction and the tracking direction but are in opposite directions between two mutually adjacent regions, a pair of tracking coils disposed between the second surface and the magnet and having centers located on an outer side of corresponding centers of the four regions in the tracking direction, a focusing coil disposed between the second surface and the magnet and having a center located on an outer side of corresponding centers of the four regions in the focusing direction, and a radial tilt coil disposed between the second surface and the magnet and having a center located on
