  • Patent number: 7078954
Abstract: A temperature-sensing circuit includes a first circuit block outputting an output voltage having negative or positive temperature coefficients and a second circuit block amplifying the output voltage of the first circuit block to a predetermined amplitude and outputting the amplified output voltage. It further includes a third circuit block producing a voltage having temperature coefficients of a polarity opposite to that of the first circuit block and adding the produced voltage to the output voltage of the second circuit block to cancel out components of second order temperature coefficients contained in the output voltages of the first and second circuit blocks.

  • Patent number: 6573812
Abstract: A dielectric filter in which a desirable amount of coupling is obtainable, and the positions of an input coupling unit and an output coupling unit can be easily arranged. The dielectric filter includes a shield case, a dielectric resonator disposed inside the shield case, a supporting base for supporting the dielectric resonator, the input coupling unit, and the output coupling unit. Both the input coupling unit and the output coupling unit are coupled to the dielectric resonator. The output coupling unit is a probe with an open-circuited end, extending on a side where the supporting base of the dielectric resonator is disposed.

  • Patent number: 6364909
Abstract: A method of producing reconstructed bone. The method includes providing an implant structure having a calcium phosphate component, and stabilizing the implant adjacent the healthy bone until tissue can recover, bond to the implant and support the normal required loading. The implant structure provides morphological continuity and anatomical contact between the implant body and the adjacent healthy bone. The method further includes providing for physiological processes to maintain a healthy junction between the implant and the healthy bone. The method further includes controlling, guiding and directing the bone reconstruction process in surgical situations where healthy recovery would not otherwise occur.

  • Patent number: 6304869
Abstract: The present invention is a chemical structure search system and method which expands the capabilities of existing systems by capitalizing on the strengths of relational database technology. The system allows the user to optimally store and search chemical structure information including information relating to multi-valued atoms, multi-typed bonds, Markush searching and various other options in a relational database management system. The system provides a complete chemical information system which includes capabilities for: (1) exact structure searching; (2) substructure searching; (3) key searching; (4) chemical name searching; (5) molecular formula searching; (6) registration of new molecules; (7) structure import/export; and (8) data editing. Additionally, the present invention allows the routine integration of chemical structure data with other related information such as inventory, spectroscopic data and clinical data via standard relational database methods.

  • Patent number: 6260041
Abstract: An apparatus for and method of monitoring and retrieving identifiable statements and other information pertinent to one or more desired search terms or concepts. In a preferred embodiment, a fast Internet real-time search technology (FIRST) system provides a user interface for inputting and editing a list of desired search terms, and a list of resource locations to be monitored. A server causes the periodic access of each resource location listed to determine whether any information on a particular resource location has been added that is pertinent to the desired search terms since the previous visit to the location. Any added information is returned to the server for processing. An alert message can be generated and forwarded to an intended recipient to alert the recipient of the added information.

  • Patent number: 6020762
Abstract: A signal translator circuit for particular use with low level logic signals is designed to accept a low level transitioning signal in a lower voltage range and output a signal transitioning within a higher voltage range. Circuitry is provided to ensure proper operation even at very low voltages. The circuitry which ensures proper operation at low voltages is selectively enabled when low input voltage input signals are used. In addition, the output signal is selectively disabled to allow downstream circuits to conserve energy during power up and power down cycles.
