  • Patent number: 6125048
Abstract: A power delivery apparatus and method which calibrates a voltage delivered from a central unit to a remote unit to compensate for losses in the supply lines between the central unit and remote unit is disclosed. The impedance of the supply lines is determined utilizing a reference voltage conducted by a calibration line, a sweep tone transmitted down the supply line, or a time domain reflectometer technique. Based upon the determined impedance of the supply lines, the voltage delivered from the central unit can be calibrated accordingly. Alternatively, the impedance can be determined and the voltage calibrated based on the measured input voltage to the remote unit or the measured power level of a signal transmitted from the remote unit.

  • Patent number: 6115494
Abstract: A method and apparatus to detect marks of a specified shape and color on a document and to extract a specified pattern consisting of a number of these marks. An RGB color signal is sent, color by color, by way of image input unit 12 to binary processing unit 13. If the marks are yellow, the B signal for the pixels constituting the marks will be smaller than the other signals. The B signal is sent to mark shape extraction unit 13a and threshold processing is executed. Simultaneously, R, G and B are sent to mark color extraction unit 13b, and the fact that the marks are yellow is detected. AND element 13c finds the logical product of these processes, and a binary image is generated from which only the yellow pixels have been extracted. This binary image is transmitted to mark location detection unit 15 by way of storage unit 14. The shapes of the marks are matched against reference data and location data are extracted for the marks.

  • Patent number: 5598737
Abstract: A portable punch press suitable for bending, cutting or otherwise working on steel frame members at sites of construction. Included is a C shaped frame erected on a bed for upstandingly carrying a hydraulic cylinder in overlying relationship to the bed. A replaceable die assembly is mounted on the bed so as to be acted upon by the hydraulic cylinder a for working on a desired blank. A pump for supplying a pressurized fluid to the cylinder is mounted thereon and driven by an electric motor disposed behind the pump. The pump and its drive motor are disposed in horizontal alignment for reduction of the total height of the machine, so that a steel frame member can be bent into a rectangular frame of less size than heretofore. In another embodiment the die assembly is modified to include a drive linkage such that the dies are disposed out of vertical register with the cylinder, thereby making possible the production of rectangular frames of further reduced size.
