Abstract: In an electronic musical instrument comprising a keyboard including a plurality of keys, a frequency information memory device for storing frequency informations corresponding to respective keys, a plurality of musical tone forming means including a waveshape memory device for forming musical tones in response to the output of the frequency information memory device, and a shift circuit interposed between the frequency information memory device and the musical tone forming means for effecting a footage change of an octave unit, there is provided a preset circuit for applying a plurality of preset footage signals to the shift circuit and for applying another preset signals which are necessary to form musical tones to the musical tone forming means.

Abstract: Spotting instrumentalities for turning containers traveling along a predetermined path on a conveyor comprising, at opposite sides of the conveyor, a pair of drive rolls and a pair of idler rolls, said pairs of rolls being movable linearly along said path and, while being so moved, rotatable about axes parallel to the vertical axis of the container, said drive rolls being driven in rotation to rotate the container and said idler rolls being freely rotatable and a positioning dog operable by engagement with the positioning element on the side of the container to stop rotation of the container at a predetermined position of orientation. The drive rolls are provided with traction elements adapted to slip when rotation of the container is stopped by the positioning element and the idler rolls are provided with guide elements adapted to be displaced laterally by out-of-round containers and/or irregularities in the surfaces of the containers.

Abstract: A conveyor belt designed especially for conveying particulate material, said belt being provided with a central ribbed portion for tractive engagement with the particulate material, planar portions along its opposite longitudinal edges for extension beneath skirt boards at said edges designed to retain the particulate material on the conveyor belt, and longitudinally extending grooves between the centrally located ribbed portion and the planar portions for receiving the lower edges of skirting fastened to the skirt boards at a level below the level of the surfaces of the planar portions.

Abstract: A mobile chair lift for raising wheelchairs from ground level to a level such as to enable rolling the wheelchair onto a porch or other flat surface providing for entrance to a home or place of business wherein there is a base frame, a platform, legs mounting the platform on the base frame, kinematic linkage for raising and lowering the platform and maintaining it horizontal during such movement, a reversible motor for actuating the linkage and switches mounted on the platform and on the base frame for controlling operation of the motor. The platform has downwardly-open channels at its opposite longitudinal sides for receiving the legs at ground level and there is a ramp transversely of the forward end of the platform for raising the wheels from the ground onto the platform.

Abstract: The combination with an electric drill of a spirit level, a foot provided with a spindle, the axis of which is at right angles to the surface of the foot by means of which the foot may be mounted in the drill chuck with its surface at right angles to the axis of the drill and a band encircling the electric drill, said band mounting the spirit level thereon such as to enable positioning the bubble in the level at a predetermined position for the angle of the shaft relative to the plane surface to be drilled such that when the foot is replaced by a drill, the drill may be positioned at said angle to said surface by positioning the bubble at said predetermined position.

Abstract: An inductor such as a fluorescent lamp choke comprises a bobbin carrying a winding, a laminated core, and a sheet metal casing consisting of two parts which have interengaging flanges and grooves along four parallel edges which are slid together and subsequently bent over and pressed against end faces of the core to secure the parts of the casing together so that they exert pressure on the core from all sides.

Abstract: A back rest constructed to be supported at its foot on a seat structure and to rest against the back of the seat structure comprising a rigid frame, a normally flat, flexible back support mounted on the frame with the lower end thereof stationary and the upper end movable and a screw rotatably mounted to the frame at the upper end operable to move the movable end of the flexible back support relative to the stationary end to bow the back support convexly forwardly with respect to the frame. Alternatively, an eccentric supported at the back side of a flexible back support in engagement therewith is used to effect bowing of the flexible back support. A bottom support pivotally connected at one end to the foot of the frame so as to extend forwardly from the foot across the seat provides for holding the foot of the frame against the back of the seat structure and a seat cover.

Abstract: An anti-theft parking system comprising a free-standing post at each delineated area for the parking of a single vehicle supporting audible and illuminated signals and a control circuit so designed that when a vehicle is driven into the area so as to depress a road switch set into the pavement of the area and a coin of appropriate value is deposited in a coin box, a key may be removed from a key switch without actuating the alarms, but if the vehicle is removed from the parking area so as to release the ground switch without restoring the key, the alarms will be actuated. There is a panel which becomes illuminated by parking the vehicle which indicates that a coin should be inserted and a panel which becomes illuminated by removal of the key which indicates that the system is conditioned for operation.

Abstract: This invention is directed to an etchant and to a process for its use. The etchant comprises sulfuric acid activated with hydrogen peroxide or the synergistic combination of hydrogen peroxide and molybdenum. The etchant is characterized by a source of phosphate ions as an inhibitor against attack on tin, especially immersion tin, as well as several other metals such as nickel and alloys of nickel such as gold alloys. The etchant is especially useful for etching copper and its alloys in the presence of a tin etch resist, and therefore, provides a new procedure for the fabrication of printed circuit boards using immersion tin as an etch resist.

Abstract: A toilet system capable of rendering the effluent innocuous and reducing the solid matter therein to microparticle size comprising a reversible, motor-driven pump and a two-position valve operable, on the one hand, for taking water into the system for flushing effluent from the bowl into a treating chamber and, on the other hand, to empty the treating chamber and discharge the effluent from the system so that both the pump and the valve are self-purging. There is a two-position switch for reversing the motor-driven pump and a valve rod for moving the two-position valve from one position to the other. A motor-driven macerator in the treating chamber provides for effecting maceration of the effluent flushed into the treating chamber. A bacteriacide may be employed to render the effluent innocuous. The macerator is operable independently of the motor-driven pump so that the system can be purged without simultaneous operation of the macerator.

Abstract: This invention is directed to an etchant and to a process for its use. The etchant comprises a synergistic combination of hydrogen peroxide and molybdenum as oxidants in acidic solution. The combination of oxidants provides for sustained etching at an exalted rate. The etchant is useful for etching metals, especially copper and its alloys, and is particularly useful in the manufacture of printed circuit boards.

Abstract: A servicing kit for chain saws comprising nested compartments which collectively have an external symmetry with respect to the longitudinal bisector of the structure, said compartments having interior walls, one of which projects into the interior wall of the other to an extent such that the ratio of the volumes of the compartments to each other is approximately two-to-one, a compartment included between the interior walls constituted by a diagonal depression in one of the walls which terminates short of the bottom and is open at the top and a carrying handle at the top.

Abstract: A record player comprising a container, a cover attached to said container, a turntable rotatably mounted on said cover, a record on said turntable and having a relatively deep groove at the end of its playing side, an electric motor in said container for driving said turntable mounted in said container and being movable substantially axially towards the turntable under a spring bias, a tone arm having a stylus movable with the speaker towards the turntable so as to engage a record on the turntable, a switch operable by the speaker as the speaker moves towards the turntable to break a circuit supplying driving current to the motor, the switch being operated only as the cover is opened or the stylus drops into a said relatively deep groove at the end of the playing side of the record.
