  • Patent number: 4090735
Abstract: A safety harness to restrain the operator of an earthmoving vehicle. The harness includes a pelvis belt connected to respective shoulder belts, each end of the pelvis belt and the shoulder belts are connected to belt retractors lockable by means responsive to both belt speed and the inclination of a vehicle. The vehicle inclination response of each retractor is similar, so that they act simultaneously, and a device is provided for adjusting the vehicle inclination response independently of the belt speed response to give the operator freedom of movement with safety restraint. The device may be coupled by cables to respective levers for locking the retractors, disabling the vehicle inclination response or for making the vehicle inclination response effective or by a double-acting solenoid having an armature for achieving the same effect.

  • Patent number: 4088903
Abstract: A bistable of the emitter coupled type is provided in which the two halves of the bistable are effectively made independently bistable by providing feedback cross-coupling via an additional pair of emitter coupled transistors. This together with the buffering of the outputs which are taken from the additional transistors reduces the effects of clock breakthrough and the effective capacitance of the output modes and provides for a significant increase in potential working speed.

  • Patent number: 4086771
Abstract: This disclosure relates to an adaptation of a conventional internal combustion engine wherein the customary energy losses in the form of heat are greatly reduced by the conversion of the heat into a power source for other cylinders of the engine. The engine includes plural cylinders of which certain cylinders are conventional internal combustion cylinders and there being a heated gas cylinder and a gas pumping cylinder whereby a gas may be heated by means of the heat loss generally occuring with respect to the internal combustion cylinder and this heated gas may be utilized to produce work in the heated gas cylinder, after which the gas is pumped back into the system by the pumping cylinder. The gas is preferably a combustible gas whereby gas which escapes past the pistons of the heated gas cylinder and the pumping cylinder into the customary crank case of the engine may be delivered into the internal combustion cylinder for burning therein.

  • Patent number: 4087563
Abstract: A dressed body of a fish, which is obtained by cutting off the head part and removing the internal organs of the fish therefrom, is sliced into upper and lower fish fillets and a part mainly consisting of the vertebra thereof. The thus obtained upper and lower fish fillets are heated by means of very hot water, or steam or the like and then cooled forcibly by a coolant with the result that the connective tissues of the fish meats can be hardened in a short time, consumption of heat energy for hardening them is small, the quality deterioration thereof is little and high yield of product is obtained. The upper and lower fillets are heated on a plate with the fillet skins against the plate. The part containing the vertebra is heated, and white meat is later separated from bone.
