Abstract: A biofilter reactor includes a housing, an axial pipe rotatably supported in the housing and including a plurality of perforations that open into the interior of the housing for collecting a treated fluid. The axial pipe includes an outlet in communication with the interior thereof for removing the treated fluid from the housing. A porous medium is disposed about the axial pipe and is rotatable therewith. The porous medium is made of a microbial foam.

Abstract: A spill-proof cap or lid for a standard beverage container, such as a soft drink, water and other liquid bottle, includes a housing which is configured to fit over the container opening. The housing includes top and bottom, each of which includes a recess. A spout is mounted in the top recess and is pivotable between open and closed positions. A flow control section extends generally vertically in the bottom recess for receiving a flow control member. The flow control member is removably positioned in the flow control section and includes a flow control valve and an air intake valve. The spout includes at least one passageway which is in fluid communication with the bottom recess through a passageway extending between the top and bottom of the housing. In use, the cap is substituted for the conventional cap or lid that the typical soft drink, water or other liquid bottle is equipped with.

Abstract: A self-haircutting guide apparatus includes a flexible band for securing around a person's head and a haircutting guide which includes first and second ends. The guide is detachably mounted to the band at one of the first and second ends thereof and includes first and second generally opposed channel members which define therebetween a recess for allowing the hair to extend therethrough. At least one of the channel members includes a track for guiding a haircutting instrument, such as a hair-clipper or scissors or the like, between the channel members.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for cooling a granular material, such as a phosphate fertilizer, using ambient air is disclosed. The apparatus includes a cooling device and a conveyor assembly for feeding the material. The cooling device includes a rotatable assembly for receiving and spreading the material in the ambient air. The rotatable assembly is comprised of radiating fins with alternating recesses.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for safe distribution of encryption keys including a known public and secret private keys in establishing a secure link between computer users resided at separate location whom have no previous secure communications. The secure communication link occasionally and anonymously interrogates the key distribution center for the certificate pertaining to the computer users in ensuring the validity and integrity of the information stored in the center which is not tampered by any unauthorized persons. The interactively interrogating of the key distribution center is conducted via a trusted and verified certificate decision making process which encompasses the acknowledging to user who receives a valid certificate, accepting an encrypted message, key distributed center's answer to the correct up-to-date certificate, decrypting the key distributed answer via the public key, and matching the answer's identification.

Abstract: A health improvement device for modifying a daily behavior by reminding a person to take medication includes a generally vertically upstanding housing. The housing includes first and second adjoining sections. The first section is provided to removably hold an instrument, such as a toothbrush, for use in a daily activity. The second section is provided for holding a material, such as medication, to be taken by the person. When a person reaches to use the toothbrush, for example, the person is reminded to take the medication due to its proximity in the second section.
