  • Patent number: 8216406
Abstract: A method for producing a thermally expandable base material for a vehicle interior, the method includes needling a web to produce a fiber mat. The web includes an inorganic fiber, a thermoplastic resin fiber, and a thermally expandable microcapsule. The fiber mat is heated to a temperature at which the thermoplastic resin fiber is melt and which is lower than a thermal expansion starting temperature of the thermally expandable microcapsule. The fiber mat is hot-pressed. The fiber mat is cooled.

  • Patent number: 8195974
Abstract: A device for providing a plurality of clock signals from a common clock signal. The device includes an input for receiving the common clock signal, a first clock signal path for providing a first output clock signal on the basis of the common clock signal and a second clock signal path for providing a second output clock signal. The second clock signal path includes a clock processing device for changing a phase of the common clock signal to provide the second clock signal.

  • Patent number: 8121013
Abstract: An optical pickup apparatus changes a propagation direction of luminous fluxes, out of a laser light reflected by a disc, in four luminous flux regions set about a laser optical axis so as to mutually disperse these luminous fluxes. A signal light region in which only a signal light is present appears on a detection surface of a photodetector. A plurality of sensors for a signal light are placed at positions irradiated with the signal light within the region. When an arithmetic process is performed on a detection signal outputted from each sensor, a DC component occurring in a tracking error signal is suppressed.

  • Patent number: 8060008
Abstract: A mobile station has a processor and a user input mechanism such as a button that is operable to cause the processor to extract at least one feature from a digital media sample. The feature, such as a spectral centroid, is descriptive of an identity of a content of the media sample. Preferably, the same user input that causes the feature extraction also causes a transmitter to establish a link and to send a message to a network address, the message having a plurality of extracted features from which the digital media sample may not be reconstructed. Where a reply message identifies a media file that matches the media sample, another user input at the same or a different button causes an authorization message to be sent so that a copy of the media file, identified in the reply message and having features that exactly match the plurality of extracted and transmitted features, is downloaded to the mobile station.

  • Patent number: 8046512
Abstract: A master includes a unit configured to register, for each slave, an expected communication time needed to exchange control data; a unit configured to register a slave in which a communication error is detected during exchange of the control data in a communication period; and a unit configured to re-execute exchange of the control data with the registered slave in the same communication period as that in which the communication error is detected. The unit configured to re-execute exchange of control data calculates a remaining resending time that can be used to re-execute exchange of the control data and, when the remaining resending time is longer than the expected communication time of the registered slave, resends the control data.

  • Patent number: 7975991
Abstract: Disclosed is a gas-liquid contact system. The system includes a vessel arranged approximately perpendicular to the ground in a longitudinal direction, a static fluid mixer in the vessel having a passage tube and a spiral blade provided in the passage tube, a gas supplier supplying gas having foreign substances to the static fluid mixer from a lower end of the vessel, a gas discharger discharging the gas passed through the static fluid mixer from an upper end of the vessel, a first liquid supplier supplying liquid to the static fluid mixer, and a liquid discharger discharging the liquid supplied from the first liquid supplier outside of the vessel. In the system, the gas supplier includes a gas generator generating gas, a pipe connecting the gas generator with the vessel, a blowing device provided in the pipe, and a second liquid supplier supplying liquid to the pipe between the gas generator and the blowing device.

  • Patent number: 7831238
Abstract: A multimedia data construct called a tag (FIG. 5) may be stored and transferred. A user can use multimedia content, to create content portion of a tag (502). The multimedia file is then incorporated into the tag or it can be referenced by a pointer in the tag (530). The multimedia file is artistic expression of the user and the tag uniquely associates the user's identity with the multimedia file by prohibiting alteration of the content after the user completes its creation. The tag includes at least one dynamic indicator that may be changed based on one or more predefined rules upon transmission. The tag may include an ID, that may be based on subscriber information. Encryption techniques may be employed to protect privacy concerns so that such subscriber information is not freely available.
