Abstract: An automatic 3D modeling system and method are described in which a 3D model may be generated from a picture or other image. For example, a 3D model for a face of a person may be automatically generated. The system and method also permits gestures/behaviors associated with a 3D model to automatically generated so that the gestures/behaviors may be applied to any 3D models.
Abstract: A method, system and medium for optimally allocating investment assets for a given investor within and between annuitized assets and non-annuitized assets retrieves an investor's utility of consumption, utility of bequest, objective and subjective probabilities of survival and expected rates of return from each of a plurality of annuity and nonannuity assets having varying degrees of risk and return. Based on these inputs, an objective utility function is maximized by adjusting the asset allocation weights. The optimal asset allocation weights may be used to allocate the assets of the investor's portfolio among predetermined investment vehicles or as an analytical tool by portfolio managers.
Abstract: A method of forming a memory device (and the resulting device) by forming an electron trapping dielectric material over a substrate, forming conductive material over the dielectric material, forming a spacer of material over the conductive material, removing portions of the dielectric material and the conductive material to form segments thereof disposed underneath the spacer of material, forming first and second spaced-apart regions in the substrate having a second conductivity type different from that of the substrate, with a channel region extending between the first and second regions, with the segments of the dielectric and first conductive materials being disposed over a first portion of the channel region for controlling a conductivity thereof, and forming a second conductive material over and insulated from a second portion of the channel region for controlling a conductivity thereof.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to CTGF fragments comprising at least exon 4 or exon 5 of CTGF and having mitogenic activity. The present invention is further directed to methods using said CTGF fragments to identify compositions which modulate the mitogenic activity of said CTGF fragments and to the compositions so identified.
Abstract: In order to provide a polyester film having superior impact resistance and flex pinhole resistance, and further exhibiting superior gas barrier properties after a metal or metal oxide is deposited on the film, with the inherent characteristics of polyester film maintained, such as low hygroscopicity, dimensional stability, flatness, and transparency, the polyester film comprises a mixture of 70% to 97% by weight of polyester A mainly composed of a repeating unit comprising ethylene terephthalate and 3% to 30% by weight of polyester B mainly composed of a repeating unit comprising butylene terephthalate. The polyester film has a melting point in range of 245 to 270° C. The polyester film may comprise a polyester resin containing 90% to 60% by weight of an ethylene terephthalate component, 10% to 40% by weight of a butylene terephthalate component, and 0.1% to 5% by weight of a polyoxyalkylene glycol component. The polyester film is suitably used for packaging and other applications.
Abstract: A method and system is described for providing a customized media list to a user over a data network. The method comprises providing a personalized data of the user to a computer system, generating a customized media list by the computer system for the user based on the personal data, and providing the customized media list to the user through the computer system where the customized media list represents a customized content and a customized advertising. A system is further disclosed and claimed for providing customized media list to a user over a data network.
Abstract: The invention provides methods of modulating gastric acid secretion by administering an amount of a prokineticin receptor antagonist effective to alter one or more indicia of gastric acid secretion, wherein the antagonist contains an amino acid sequence at least 80% identical to amino acids to 7 to 77 of SEQ ID NO:3, which includes (a) the 10 conserved cysteine residues of SEQ ID NO:3, and (b) from 0 to 9 of amino acids 78 to 86 of SEQ ID NO:3, wherein amino acids 1 to 6 of the antagonist do not consist of amino acids AVITGA (SEQ ID NO:21). In another embodiment, the antagonist contains an amino acid sequence at least 80% identical to amino acids to 7 to 77 of SEQ ID NO:6, which includes (a) the 10 conserved cysteine residues of SEQ ID NO:6, and (b) from 0 to 4 of amino acids 78 to 81 of SEQ ID NO:6, wherein amino acids 1 to 6 of the antagonist do not consist of amino acids AVITGA (SEQ ID NO:21).

Abstract: A flip-flop circuit includes first and second logic gates, a first selection circuit and a latch circuit. The first logic gate executes a logic operation on a first data signal and a first control signal. The second logic gate executes a logic operation on a second data signal and the first control signal. The operation results of the first and second logic gates are forcibly fixed to a predetermined value irrespective of the first and second data signals, if the first control signal is asserted. A first selection circuit selects one of the operation results of the first and second logic gates, and outputs the selected operation result as a first selection signal. A latch circuit latches the first selection signal.
Abstract: One embodiment of a field coverage configurable passive infrared radiation intrusion detection device comprises a plurality of passive infrared radiation sensors. The device also has an optical element for gathering infrared radiation from different portions of a field and for focusing said infrared radiation onto said plurality of passive infrared radiation sensors. An electrical activation/deactivation circuit receives the output of each passive infrared radiation sensor and selectively activates/deactivates one or more of the plurality of passive infrared radiation sensor outputs thereby configuring the portions of the field covered by the passive infrared intrusion detection device. In another embodiment of a field coverage configurable passive infrared radiation intrusion detection device, the height coverage of the device is adjustable in the field.
