  • Patent number: 5387653
Abstract: Thermoplastic powders well adapted for the direct adherent coating of metal substrates, i.e., without requiring an intermediate adherence primer layer, are based on a polyamide and/or a polyetheresteramide, and contain an effective amount of a polycondensate of an aromatic sulfonamide with an aldehyde or dicarboxylic acid.

  • Patent number: 5083432
Abstract: A hydraulic braking system includes the third piston slidably disposed between the first piston and the second piston of the tandem master cylinder so as to define the third pressure chamber between the third piston and second piston. The third pressure chamber is communicated with the dynamic hydraulic pressure generator. Thereby, due to supply the output hydraulic pressure of the dynamic hydraulic pressure generator to the third pressure chamber, the initial stroke of the brake pedal is reduced and the braking force is ensured as the ordinaly tandem master cylinder when the dynamic hydraulic pressure generator is not operated. Moreover, if the leakage of the brake fluid generates in the wheel cylinders, the flow of the brake fluid of the dynamic hydraulic pressure generator does not generate.

  • Patent number: 4994337
Abstract: A photosensitive member of the present invention comprises an electrically conductive substrate, a photoconductive layer and an overcoat layer. The photoconductive layer comprises selenium-arsenic alloy layer, or selenium layer and selenium-tellurium layer formed in this order. The overcoat layer comprises amorphous carbon containing hydrogen atoms, halogen atoms and at least one element selected from the group consisting of chalcogen, oxygen, nitrogen and elements in Group III and IV of the periodic table. The photosensitive member of this construction is harmless and excellent in electrophotographic characteristics inclusive of durability and surface hardness.

  • Patent number: 4541517
Abstract: A selectively extendable chute assembly includes a fabric chute covering member having a plurality of extender tubes secured thereto. A coil spring is secured inside each extender tube to continuously urge the extender tube into a retracted position. Pressurized fluid is selectively provided to the extender tubes to urge them into an extended position whereby the chute becomes usable for unloading a vehicle or another type of storage facility.

  • Patent number: 4011365
Abstract: The novel cell uses silver oxides as positive electrode material and iron as negative electrode material in an alkaline electrolyte with the silver oxides being reduced to mainly metallic silver during the discharge of the cell. This cell is sealed so as to bring the gases developed in the cell into contact with the negative as well as the positive material thus eliminating the gases. This new sealed alkaline cell gives outstanding performance with respect to energy and power density and cycling life.
