Abstract: A control and system for blood testing, including a control having morphologically fixed and stabilized blood cells that have been added to a diluent. The control and system can be used advantageously for indirect acute protein plasma measurement, including erythrocyte sedimentation rate testing.
Abstract: A ceramic having a relatively high proportion of an alpha prime SiAlON phase and exhibiting high hardness and toughness. In a particularly preferred embodiment, a cation of Gd is used as a modifying cation.
