  • Patent number: 8198472
Abstract: Described are diol-derived organofunctional silanes in which the silanes contain cyclic and bridged alkoxy groups derived from hydrocarbon-based diols and methods for the preparation of the silanes. Also described are rubber compositions containing the diol-derived organofunctional silanes, methods for the preparation of the rubber compositions and articles of manufacture containing the rubber compositions, in particular, automotive tires and components thereof.

  • Patent number: 8153261
Abstract: A solid polymeric substrate having a resin derived from curable silylated polyurethane composition exhibiting superior properties adhered thereto. The silylated polyurethane is prepared by reacting a polyol component with a diisocyanate component to form a hydroxyl-terminated prepolymer and endcapping the prepolymer with an isocyanate silane.

  • Patent number: 8030415
Abstract: A moisture crosslinkable thermoplastic composition is produced by a process of grafting an unsaturated silane of the formula: G1R1SiZ where G1 is vinyl, R1 is methyl and Z is a divalent hydrolyzable group under reactive mechanical working conditions and in the presence of at least two peroxides and subsequently is converted into a crosslinked thermoplastic composition by exposure to moisture in the presence of a crosslinking catalyst.
