Abstract: A latch assembly, for holding the doors of trucks and other vehicles in the open position, includes the pivotal latch bar of the prior art but with an improved keeper. The improved keeper has a spring activated lock flap that has one end disposed into the opening formed in the keeper whereby the spring urges the lock flap to its position for closing the opening which receives the latch bar. In addition the latch bar is improved whereby its length can be adjusted to a fixed length in the field.
Abstract: A locator and clamping means, for accurately locating and securing a workpiece onto the flat workplate or bed of a machining tool wherein the bed is of the type having a plurality of spaced grooves with one set disposed at right angles to another set, consists of jig into which the workpiece is secured and which has a flat surface wherein three accurately positioned non-aligned holes are located and consists of dowels removably secured within said respective holes and protruding therefrom. In addition, three apertured keys are slidably disposed within the grooves in the bed so that each key is capable of receiving one dowel. To facilate the insertion of each dowels into a respective aperture, the dowels are tapered and each aperture in the respective key is congruent to the taper. Then, when the three dowels engage the three keys, the jig and, in turn, the workpiece is acturately positioned on and secured to the bed.
Abstract: A sterilized protective sleeve in combination with a rigid shield for the handle of a dental instrument is disclosed wherein the sleeve consists of an elastic tubular casing adapted to conform to the shank of the instrument. The rigid shield is contoured to conform to the head end of the instrument and has an opening through which the rotating burr of the instrument protrudes. Furthermore, one of the open ends of the casing is capable of receiving or extending over both the rigid shield and the shank of the dental instrument so that the rotating burr extends out of the other open end of the casing. In particular, the opening in the rigid shield is made slightly larger than the shank of the burr so that minimal clearance is provided to minimize contamination.
Abstract: There is taught the use of a steel angle section suitably fixed onto the inside surface of a panel. Each panel has at least one angle section mounted relatively near the upper end but can be mounted anywhere thereon. One leg of the angle section is disposed perpendicularly to the panel to form a flange. The depending of the flange has its outer surface preferably disposed flush with the surface of the panel. The panel is provided with an opening in the region behind the depending leg. In addition, the depending leg is provided with a vertical slot in which a key member is disposed to move vertically within the slot. To the key member is pivotably mounted a swing arm or tie plate which has an elongated slot at its other end. Through this slot at the other end, a pin is fitted to mount the tie plate to the building. Vertically disposed and threaded through the upper leg of the angle section is a bolt whose end bears on the key member to provide vertical adjustment.
Abstract: A hydrocarbon plastic candle holder is disclosed having an outwardly extending conical side wall. The bottom of the holder has a centrally located recess in which the candle fits so that the candle is centrally disposed to the conical side wall. Within the centrally located recess there is formed a concentric annular ridge to retain candles of a smaller diameter. Within the annular ridge is formed at least the three upwardly extending protrusions on which the smaller diameter candles rest so that an air space is provided under the candle.
Abstract: The apparatus is capable of being immersed in a liquid bath and supports at least two dowels or rods on which are mounted apertured discs in spaced apart relationship. Each rod has a gear fixed near one end and has a plurality of axially spaced circumferential grooves in each of which respective apertured discs are disposed. A pair of spaced wheels are provided to rotate in unison about a fixed axle. Each wheel has a plurality of radially disposed slots into which respective rods are disposed so that each dowel is capable of rotating about its own axis. The axle supports a fixed sun gear disposed near one wheel and each rod has at one end a planet gear that meshes with the sun gear whenever the respective rod is nested within a respective pair of slots on the wheels. Means are provided to rotate said pair of wheels about said axle. To prevent the rods from falling out of their respective slots as the wheels rotate, a C-shaped keeper device is disposed around each wheel and in a fixed position.
