Abstract: A correction tape dispenser body has an applicator tip assembly connected thereto, the assembly including an applicator tip with an edge for pressing a tape against a surface. The tip is connected to a supporting member by a shell bearing to permit relative movement between the tip and the supporting member, about a common axis.
Abstract: An occlusive wound dressing for penetrating thoracic trauma including a silicone impregnated gauze pad covered by an overlapping thin, flexible, plastic sheet having adhesive about the perimeter of three sides of said gauze pad and having an unadhered marginal area on the fourth side of said gauze pad to allow said wound dressing to be applied to the wound so that the unadhered marginal area of the outer sheet provides a flutter valve to permit the flow of undesired fluids such as air and blood out of the wound, for example, during expiration but preventing the in-flow of fluids into the wound during inspiration.
Abstract: A device for performing a plurality of operations on a workpiece has a combination tool holder and a rotatable spindle for retaining the tool holder. The combination tool holder has a central opening at its forward end for receiving a drill bit and a pair of forwardly extending bosses onto which a pair of cutting tools are received. A slot is provided in the tool holder dividing it into a pair of gripping elements receiving the drill bit, the gripping elements being forced together onto the drill bit when the tool holder is mounted in the spindle.
Abstract: A shaving system comprises novel components of a razor handle (1), a razor blade cartridge (2), and a magazine (5) holding a supply of cartridges. The handle and magazine are adapted to cooperate so that a used cartridge on the handle is replaced by (i) inserting the used cartridge into an empty magazine compartment, which unlatches the handle from the cartridge; (ii) moving the handle along the magazine towards a next adjacent compartment accommodating a fresh cartridge, firstly to disconnect the handle from the used cartridge which is left in its compartment and secondly to latch the handle onto the fresh cartridge held in the next compartment; and (iii) withdrawing from the magazine the handle with the fresh cartridge attached. Thus, the cartridges are dispensed from the magazine in turn with each cartridge replacement operation being effected by a single stroke of the handle relative to the magazine, this stroke having distinct components of insertion, advancement and withdrawal.
Abstract: A process for manufacturing razor blades from a continuous strip of metal stock by stamping a plurality of openings in the strip for precise registry of the blade edge when employed in the razor and then running the stock through a device which partially slits the strip along lines which are precisely located with respect to the edges of the stock and the openings. The strip is then heat treated after which it is run through a device which splits the stock along the previously slit lines to form a plurality of continuous strands containing interconnected blades disposed end to end.
Abstract: A safety razor system includes a body member for attachment to a razor handle having a shell structure and an elongated blade mounted on the shell structure of the body member. The blade is arcuate along its lengthwise directions and has a skin contacting surface with a plurality of apertures formed therein, the perimeter of each aperture serving as a cutting edge. The blade is mounted on the body with the skin contacting surface entirely offset from the body member and is attached to a handle for pivotal movement in the widthwise direction about a pivot center offset from the skin contacting surface in the direction of contact.
Abstract: A twin-blade assembly is formed from two blade steel members (A, B) shaped to have rear mounting legs (3A/B), spring arms (9A, 9B) at opposite ends of the unit, downturned legs (2A, 2B) for reinforcing the members and sharpened blade edges (1A, 1B) on blade strips or margins (5A, 5B). The spring arms can flex to permit relative displacement of the strips (5A, 5B). The assembly may also incorporate a lubricating strip (M), the whole unit and strip being discardable and replaceable as a unit.
Abstract: A ball point pen includes a tubular member with a hollow interior placeable in fluid communication with an ink supply, a socket formed at one end of the member having a seat and a cylindrical wall extending from the seat and a rim structure disposed at the end of the cylindrical wall opposite the seat, a spherical ball disposed in the socket, rotatably engagable with the seat and captured by the rim structure, the diameter of the ball being at least three percent smaller than the diameter of the seat at the intersection of the seat and the cylindrical wall.
Abstract: A one piece receptacle for retaining and dispensing a plurality of razor blade cartridges has a plurality of cavities formed therein. Each of the cavities has structural elements disposed within the cavity for retaining a blade cartridge therein in spaced relation with the wall structure forming the respective cavity.

Abstract: A handle assembly for a safety razor comprises a grip portion formed of a pair of shells mounted on a substantially planar body member. The shell members cover only the periphery of the top and bottom surfaces of the body member which is fabricated of a first element formed of a substantially flexible elastomeric material and a second element formed of a more rigid material. The second element is sandwiched between the top and bottom surfaces of the first element, or imbedded within the first element by a molding process.
Abstract: A method of analyzing the writing quality of a ball point pen for ink laydown, blobbing, and degree of inconsistency employs a computer and an image analysis software package capable of assembling a pixel gray level distribution known as a histogram. The distribution of pixel gray value for a writing sample is manipulated and analyzed, the values then being compared to a range of pre-established values.

Abstract: A tandem blade razor with two continually sharpened blades and a third skin engaging member of planar form having a skin engaging edge with a tip radius of at least 0.5 microns. The rounded edge is positioned between the sharpened blade edges or behind them.
Abstract: A safety razor head comprises a head frame (101) carrying a cap member (104) and two blade units (105) all mounted in slots in end walls (103) of the frame (101) so as to be movable vertically, i.e. towards and away from the base (102) of the frame. The movable elements are urged upwardly by springs (106). The blade units (105) comprise metal pressing (108) of inverted L-shaped cross-section. Blade members (107) are attached to the top limbs (109) and guard portions (111, 112) are spaced forwardly of the blade edges (107A). The pressing (108) has projecting ears (114) at opposite ends by which each unit is mounted in the frame (101) for limited pivotal movement about an axis parallel with and close to the blade edge (107A).
