  • Patent number: 6916261
Abstract: A composite laminate bamboo sporting implement with an elongated handle having multiple layers of bamboo and an impact portion having multiple laminate layers affixed to the elongated handle suitable to strike, carry or throw a sporting object. Each of the elongated handle bamboo layers has an average thickness of 1.0 to 3.0 mm and both the handle and impact portion alternates in grain direction between adjoining bamboo layers at an angle between 30 to 90 degrees. Bamboo layers may be treated with a hydrogen peroxide solution to remove impurities and excess moisture thereby reducing the weight and maintaining the strength of the at least one impact portion bamboo layer. Additionally, at least one internal impact portion layer has at least a portion of aircraft-grade titanium alloy for strengthening the impact portion.

  • Patent number: 6585137
Abstract: This technical disclosure is for a carrying case for a skateboard having an elongate body including forward and rearward wheel assemblies longitudinally aligned medially on a bottom portion of the skateboard body. The carrying case includes an enclosure that provides an inner storage area for enclosing the skateboard body and an opening on the enclosure for storing and retrieving the skateboard into and out of the storage area. A zipper closure located around a peripheral edge of the opening allows for secure closing and opening of the carrying case. The carrying case has two apertures for receiving the forward and rearward wheel assemblies of the skateboard therethrough when the skateboard is placed in the inner storage area of the carrying case. A covering member covers each apertures and covers the forward and rearward wheel assemblies that project through the apertures when the skateboard is located in the inner storage area of the carrying case.

  • Patent number: 6098321
Abstract: A bucket converter for providing improved excavation versatility that couples with and attaches to an excavation. The bucket converter comprises a volume increasing frame coupled and semi-fixedly attached to an excavation bucket for increasing the volumetric capacity of the excavation bucket. An orienting projection from a lower portion of the frame holds the coupling element of the frame at a height above a surface when the bucket converter is detached from the excavation bucket and is supported on the surface by the orienting projection and a lowermost portion of the frame. The height at which the coupling portion is held by the orienting projection enables engagement of the coupling portion with a cooperative coupling element on the excavation bucket without the need for any initial manual assistance.

  • Patent number: 6088938
Abstract: An implement adapter for providing improved excavation versatility that couples with and attaches to an excavation tool assembly for mounting a working implement thereon. The implement adapter comprises a frame for holding a working implement, wherein the frame is coupled and semi-fixedly attached to an excavation tool assembly. A parking projection holds the coupling element of the frame at a sufficient height above a surface when the implement adapter is detached from the excavation tool assembly and supported on the surface by the parking projection and a lowermost portion of either the frame or the working implement. The height at which the coupling portion is held by the parking projection enables engagement of the coupling portion with a cooperative coupling element on the excavation tool assembly without the need for any manual assistance.
