Abstract: The invention provides an improved inventory management and theft detection system whereby by a security tag is placed on an article for sale. The security tag is affixed to the article so that the article cannot be opened when the security tag is in place. A device to remove the security tag is controlled by the cash register of the store. The security tag removal device is controlled by the cash register and does not operate unless a sales transaction has occurred.

Abstract: A container body with a container opening and a flap partially secured to the container body and completely covering the container opening is disclosed. The flap is secured to the container by a hinge or fold line and formed from the same substrate as the container body. The container body contains a first magnetic region adjacent to and surrounding the perimeter of the container opening. The flap contains a second magnetic region aligned with and opposite the container body's first magnetic region. The first and second magnetic regions are magnetically attracted to each other. The flap is held in a closed position by magnetic attraction between the flap's magnetic region and the container body's magnetic region.

Abstract: A paper web is smoothened by passing the web through a pre-calender device on a paper machine before the application of a coating. The pre-calender device comprises at least one pair of steel rolls, one of which is heated, and a liquid application device which applies a thin film of water to the surface of the web which contacts the heated roll before the web enters the nip between the rolls. The web is then dried after exiting the nip either by wrapping the heated roll and/or by applying heat externally to the web.

Abstract: The inkjet recording sheet substrate of the present invention comprises a cellulosic sheet support, e.g., paper, having on at least one surface thereof a base coating comprising pigment and binder. The preferred pigment component is a 50/50 mixture of kaolin clay and calcined clay, and the preferred binder component is polyvinyl acetate. This combination of binder and pigment has been found to possess a high absorption capacity for the vehicle of an inkjet ink and good compatibility with ink receptive top coatings applied over the base coat.
