    Abstract: A coupling network for electromagnetic pulsed testing arrangements includes three stacks of toroidal ferrite cores. Two of the stacks are of identical diameter, the third stack has a diameter approximately equal to the combined diameters of the first two stacks. A copper tube looped through the central aperture of the first two stacks forms a primary winding. An insulated wire looped twice through the first two apertures forms a secondary winding of a 1:2 step-up transformer. The winding is extended through the aperture of the third stack. The third stack is operable to permit the laying in of a cable connected to a device under test. The cable forms the secondary of an isolation transformer.

    Abstract: During ATCRBS surveillance procedures, a multiplicity of target aircraft are typically detected through target replies from interrogation signals. However, the nature of the target acquisition procedures are such that positive identification of the target aircraft is not available. Rather than ordering the target tracks with increasing range and correlating the target replies with tracks based on the ordering of the target tracks, the tracks are prioritized, based on confidence in the reliability of the identification of each track, into groups. An attempt to correlate the tracks of each group with the set of target replies is performed for the groups in order of decreasing priority. A target reply is assigned to a track when a correlation between a track and a target reply is determined.

    Abstract: An improved distributed processing system for controlling the transfer of data between a terminal controller and a subsystem is described where the improvement insures wordstring consistency in a manner which is completely transparent to the subscriber subsystem. In particular, data is transferred, via a dual-bank, dual-port terminal memory where the bank selection is controlled such that any wordstring transfers between the terminal memory and the terminal controller are constrained to involve a different bank than transfers between the terminal memory and its associated subscriber subsystem. A wordstring log associated with control arbitration logic contains the dynamic state of the bank assignments for each wordstring. Two flag bits in the wordstring log provide information to the control/arbitration logic, allowing it to manage the bank selection of the terminal memory.

    Abstract: A primary slave IOP, upon detecting an error, verifies the availability of a secondary slave IOP, and then sets an output control signal to indicate backup is requested. The primary slave IOP then takes itself out of being the primary. A secondary slave IOP, sensing that the output control signal from the other IOP has been set, assumes the roll of the primary slave IOP. A master controller, detecting an error with the primary slave IOP, interrogates the primary and secondary slave IOPs for a status input, and then arbitrates between the first and second IOP to determine the IOP that is to take on the primary role. Finally the master controller awards the more operational IOP the role of the primary slave IOP, thereby completing the failover operation.
