Abstract: A single crystal nickel-base superalloy is disclosed having an improved incipient melting temperature and oxidation resistance. The single crystal nickel-base alloy of this invention is characterized by specific addition of chromium, tungsten, aluminum and tantalum to produce an alloy having moderate high temperature strength and improved oxidation resistance and incipient melting temperature. The nominal composition of our new single crystal alloy (in weight percent) is 10-15% Cr, 0-4% Co, 6-8.5% W, 6-7% Al, 0-1% Ti, 2-6% Ta, and the balance nickel.

Abstract: Through-nitrided light gage ferritic stainless steels having a dispersion of metal-nitride particles at an interparticle spacing of less than about 10 microns. The resulting material has substantially improved strength at room and elevated temperatures over conventional ferritic stainless steels, exhibits ductility markedly above that commonly associated with nitrided articles, and is stronger than conventional 18Cr-8Ni austenitic stainless steel (T-304) for prolonged service above about 1400.degree. F. The nitriding is accomplished with atomic nitrogen at 1500.degree.-1800.degree. F. followed by heating to above 1800.degree. F. in a non-oxidizing atmosphere to remove excess nitrides.
Abstract: A method of internally nitriding and brazing assemblies having iron based components to which titanium has been internally added prior to casting. A brazed assembly includes iron based components to which titanium is added prior to casting and is dispersion strengthened by nitridation to form an array of titanium nitride particles.
Abstract: An improved hitch for attaching a trailer to a farm type tractor is disclosed, with a means for supporting the hitch at the distal end thereof by attachment to a support member provided on the tractor for implement support.
Abstract: The composition of a nickel base cast alloy for high temperature structural parts is modified by controlled reduction of the aluminum content and increasing the carbon content to significantly reduce the occurrence of base metal cracking in the heat-affected zone during fusion welding operations. The modified nickel base casting alloy is subjected to a pre-weld thermal conditioning in order to prevent strain age cracking of the weldments during post-weld thermal cycling operations.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for mixing two previously separated fluids at a downhole location adjacent a predetermined formation interval.
Abstract: An endotracheal intubation device is disclosed for manipulating the lower end of an endotracheal tube into the trachea or windpipe by magnetically displacing the tip of the tube to direct it towards the trachea as the tube is lowered down a patient's throat.
Abstract: This Application discloses an air vent cover assembly for a vent opening in an enclosed structure such as a boat cabin compartment. The assembly includes a connecting ring which is attached to the vent opening in the structure, and a detachable air scoop member having a snap ring which attaches onto an external groove on the upper portion of the connecting ring. The vent assembly is so arranged and constructed as to eliminate all fasteners on the outside of the vent cover or scoop.
Abstract: A clarification tank having a plurality of pick-up trays and a central collection conduit which is connected to an externally located riser having a high volume discharge weir at the upper end thereof. The tank also includes a plurality of sand pan draw-offs connected to a collection piping system which permits gathering solid particulate matter from all of the sand pan drains in a single discharge line by hydrostatic pressure differential.
Abstract: A method for transporting gravel to a production zone with a circulating well fluid to uniformly pack the gravel in the annular space in the wall between the perforated liner and the formation whereby the fluid enters the perforated liner after depositing gravel at the top of the annular column of gravel and flows through the liner inner annulus into a tailpipe through which the well fluid is returned to the surface. The well fluid carrier for the gravel is prevented from entering the perforated or slotted liner except at the top of the gravel sheath by a semi-solid material pre-positioned in the slotted liner-tailpipe annulus. The semi-solid material is progressively eroded by the well fluid entering the slotted liner-tailpipe annulus at the top of the gravel sheath.
Abstract: A clarification tank having a plurality of pick-up trays and a central collection column which is connected to an externally located riser having a high volume discharge weir at the upper end thereof. The tank also includes a plurality of sand pan draw-offs connected to a collection piping system which permits gathering material from all of the sand pan drains in a single discharge line by static pressure differential.
