  • Patent number: 6827245
Abstract: An aerodynamic container adapted for receipt around a front portion of a pair of skis or a front portion of a snowboard, when the equipment is mounted on a vehicle ski rack. The container provides improved aerodynamic airflow with reduced wind noise and buffeting. The container helps improve vehicle fuel efficiency substantially by reducing the incremental drag of a loaded ski rack by up to 50 percent, while protecting valuable alpine equipment form potential damage during transit. The container includes a hard plastic housing having a split first housing member and an identical split second housing member. A bottom portion of the first housing member is hinged to a bottom portion of the second housing member for opening to the inside of the housing members. Top portions of the two housing members are releasably attached using hand operated release latches. The latches are used for securing the two housing members around the skis or snowboard.

  • Patent number: 6798517
Abstract: A handheld, portable color measuring device for measuring the primary colors of red, green and blue in a color target to be analyzed and connected to a built-in LCD display or connected to a separate personal computer. The color measuring device includes an elongated color measuring probe housing. A hollow cone shaped probe tip is attached to one end of the probe housing. A target contact end of the probe tip is placed against a color target to be measured. Inside the probe housing is a battery powered white LED light source connected to a color measurement switch. When the measurement switch is actuated, the white light source illuminates the color target surrounded by the target contact end of the probe tip. A light pipe is centered inside the probe housing and inside a portion of the probe tip. The light pipe captures the reflected light off the color target and projects the captured light onto a 3 color (RGB) sensor.

  • Patent number: 6782653
Abstract: A waterfowl decoy system used by one or more hunters for simulating large numbers of geese and ducks in a field or on a water surface. The system includes a plurality of decoy pennants attached to a decoy line. A plurality of decoy lines joined in series form a decoy line train. Opposite ends of each decoy line include a snap swivel for preventing the pennants and decoy line from becoming tangled. A portion of the decoy line is attached to a top of a line pole for suspending the decoy pennants above a ground surface or a water surface. Also, a portion of the decoy line can be connected to a decoy line animator for moving the decoy line and pennants from one position to another. The decoy system also includes a backpack or dolly with a vertical hand operated vertical spool for holding the pennants and decoy lines thereon and transporting the decoy system to and from the hunting area.

  • Patent number: 6765383
Abstract: A magnetotelluric geophysical survey system used with an airborne survey bird for natural resource exploration of oil and gas, mineral deposits and aquifers. The survey system uses natural electromagnetic EM fields as an energy source. The magnetotelluric airborne survey system includes an aerodynamic airborne survey bird adapted for being towed behind a helicopter or fixed wing aircraft. The survey system can also be incorporated into a fixed wind aircraft. The survey system includes a non-conductive nose boom on the survey bird with orthogonal electric dipoles for measuring electric fields from 0.01 Hz up to 480 Hz. An angular motion detector is mounted inside the bird and used for compensating for errors caused by angular motion of the bird when in the presence of strong electric field gradients. The survey bird can use a single magnetometer or pairs of magnetometers for measuring electromagnetic gradients.

  • Patent number: 6752920
Abstract: A self cleaning filter includes a body (15), inlet (1), outlet (14), flush inlet (12) and waste outlet (2). Elements (7) provide filtration while compressed but are cleaned decompressed. Feed from inlet port (3), impacts and swirls from an impeller (5) on moveable plunger (6) for preliminary centrifugal separation. During filtration plunger (6) is positioned to open the inlet port (3), the filtrate port (11) and compress filtration elements (7). The swirling feed permeates the filtration elements (7) and passes filtrate port (11), filtrate valve (21), filtrate plenum (16), and exits the filtrate outlet (14). Plunger (6) is moved and cleaning is provided by supplication of pressurized cleaning media to the back flush receiver plenum (13) via the back flush media inlet (12). This pressure motivates plunger(6) to close inlet port (3), filtrate port (14) and decompress filtration elements (7).
