  • Patent number: 5934325
Abstract: A pullout faucet wand joint includes a receptor formed and adapted to be mounted on a sink deck, with the receptor having an opening to receive a faucet wand and an interior passage for a faucet hose which is attached to the faucet wand. The wand joint includes a reinforcing collar secured to the receptor at its opening, which collar extends axially into the receptor internal passage to provide reinforcement for the wand when it is positioned within the receptor. The faucet wand has a shell and there is a faucet waterway located within the shell. A transition sleeve is secured about the exterior of the waterway with the transition sleeve extending within the wand shell and having cooperating elements thereon which prevent relative rotation between the wand shell and the transition sleeve. There are cooperating elements on the wand shell and the reinforcing collar which provide orientation therebetween when the shell is inserted within the receptor.

  • Patent number: 5932331
Abstract: A trim panel for use in automotive trim applications is made from a laminate of a thermoformable support layer and an A-side layer made of vinyl or cloth or similar material. The laminate is thermoformed to impart permanently the contour of a rigid substrate to which the panel will be attached. The support layer retains the desired contour without the use of other materials. The support layer is made of an intermediate layer and a bottom layer of thermoformable foam. The foam layers have different densities to allow selection of the hand or touch of the A-side layer.

  • Patent number: 5927478
Abstract: An input station for a wide continuous conveyor belt that moves in a conveyor run through an input station to a discharge location, around a head pulley, through a return run around a tail pulley, and back into the input station. At the input station the belt rides on a plurality of N conventional central support rollers each mounted between two inner stanchions. A plurality of at least 2N elongated, flat, stationary slider rails support each extreme outer edge of the conveyor belt through the input station. There are 2N troughing rolls, one at each end of each central roller, between the slider rails and the central rollers. 2N fixed inner stanchions support each central roller and one end of each of its troughing rollers. 2N fixed medial support members each support one end of a troughing roller. The slider rails are supported by the medial support members and by 2N outer stanchions.

  • Patent number: 5930426
Abstract: For a connector, preferably a connector for optical waveguides, which is arranged jointly with electrical connectors on a printed board which can be plugged into a rack, it is proposed to equalize the tolerances in the direction of insertion defined by the electrical connectors in that the connector half for optical waveguides arranged in the rack has a plug-in part latched and held in a carrier body and that when the connector halves are assembled this latching is released and a latching with the connector half of the printed board takes place, wherein by means of the released latching with the carrier body the plug-in part is held therein in a displaceable manner.

  • Patent number: 5928763
Abstract: A method for obtaining a tight, secure connection between two relatively non-deformable members and the connection resulting therefrom. The method includes the steps of forming a recess in a first of said members, forming a second member with a portion that seats in the recess of the first member, molding a liner of thermoplastic to one of the members, which thermoplastic is deformable but not more than slightly compressible, and seating the portion of the second member in the recess of the first member with one of the members engaging the liner to displace a portion of the liner into a void space in one of the members to thus form a tightly gripping connection between the members. A composite knob and its connection to shaft made in accordance with this method are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5922102
Abstract: A procedure for making zinc particles of a size, shape and composition such that the particles can be subsequently used in a process for manufacturing zinc parts from such particles in either molten or powder form includes the initial step of heating zinc to a temperature at least as high as 720.degree. C. The molten zinc is passed through a screen having small openings, on the order of about 1/4".times.1/4" into a cooling region formed by a movable surface which is at a temperature of on the order of about -200.degree. C. The zinc forms small particles as it passes through the openings in the screen and essentially instantaneously solidifies as it contacts the movable surface. Thereafter, the solidified zinc particles are subjected to a grinding process to reduce their size to a powder having a surface area in the range of 2 mm.sup.2 to 20 mm.sup.2.

  • Patent number: 5915573
Abstract: A storage rack for small articles including an elongated housing having a back wall, a front wall and top and bottom walls. An elongated opening is formed in the front wall of the housing. The elongated opening is defined by inwardly extending portions of the front wall thereby forming hooks. A multiplicity of retainer loops formed of a strip of a tough, resilient, abrasive-resistant resin is provided for the storage rack. Each retainer loop has a bight portion positioned outwardly of the front wall of the housing and two legs extending through the elongated opening to position the distal ends of the loop inside the housing. A pair of hook engaging notches are formed in the distal end of each of the legs. The hook engaging notches receive the opening defining hooks of the housing to preclude withdrawal of the retainer loops through said elongated opening.
