Abstract: A cross-crawl chair including a chair frame for supporting a headrest, chair back, chair seat, right and left arm supports, right and left leg supports, and four actuators for moving the supports. The chair also includes a control system which synchronizes the movement of the right arm actuator with the left leg actuator and the movement of the left arm actuator with the right leg actuator so as to provide an “arm and opposing leg” or cross-crawl motion. Further, the electro-mechanical control system controls a speed, a length of time, and a range of the cross-crawl motion.

Abstract: A cam motion machine that includes several cams each defining at least one running track for a follower roller. Each cam is provided with a centering bore that permits mounting of the cam on a drive shaft, while elements are provided to apply a tightening force parallel to the drive shaft with a non-circular section. At least one washer-spacer, for which an internal edge is non-circular and designed to enable an axial displacement of the washer-spacer along the shaft, is fixed to rotate with the shaft and is in contact with at least one of the cams. The washer-spacer may be fixed to the cam by adherence and to the shaft by cooperation of shapes due to complementary projections provided on one of the shaft and the washer-spacer. It would be appreciate if the Examiner would indicate the acceptance of this amendment to the Abstract in the next office communication.

Abstract: A mixing device for mixing liquid, flowable or powder-form materials, having a first component that is mounted in a rotatable manner on a frame, a second component mounted in a rotatable manner on the first component, a drive unit for generating a rotary movement of the first component, and a deflecting unit for transferring and deflecting the rotary movement of the first component to the second component in such a manner that the direction of rotation of the first component is opposite to the direction of rotation of the second component, the second component having at least one vacuum box which can be evacuated when in operation and in which there is at least one container for the materials that are to be mixed.

Abstract: An examination and treatment table having a base (1) adapted to lift and lower a table (2) attached thereto, the table comprises a seat cushion (4) and a back cushion (3), which are individually movable. The table (2) is only attached at one side to the base (1) by means of a pivot pin (12) and that the seat cushion (4) and the back cushion (3), respectively, has a suspending frame (29, 30) each connected to the pivot pin (12) and extending along, at least partially, one side of the cushion (3, 4), which is the same side as the pivot pin (12) is provided.

Abstract: An information band (1) for fitting around a wrist of a wearer and for containing information about the wearer. The information band includes a clip (2) and a band (3). The clip (2) has a lid part (5) pivotably connected to a bottom part (4), at least one bulge formed between the lid and bottom parts (4, 5), and a locking device. The lid and bottom parts (4, 5) close to fix the band (3) in position around the wrist by a strong squeezing force resulting from a lockable, snappable co-operation between parts of the locking device during application of the information band so that a two-handed grip is required to open the clip and release the band.

Abstract: This invention relates to a method and apparatus for detecting a biological molecule associated with enzyme activity in a sample. The invention is applicable to detecting a microorganism associated with an enzyme in a sample such as water, food, soil, or a biological sample. According to a preferred embodiment of the method of the invention, a sample containing an enzyme of interest or a microorganism associated with the enzyme is combined with a suitable substrate, and a fluorescent product of the enzyme-substrate reaction is selectively detected. The fluorescent product is detected with a partitioning element or optical probe/partitioning element of the invention. In one embodiment the partitioning element provides for partitioning of only the fluorescent product molecule into the probe. The invention also provides an automated system for monitoring for biological contamination of water or other samples.

Abstract: A central vacuum cleaning system control subsystem for use in a central vacuum cleaning system having a motor includes a central vacuum unit control module with a receiver for wirelessly receiving command signals, and a power stage for controlling the motor in accordance with command signals received through the receiver. The control module is stable in high ambient temperature. Current flowing to the motor is sensed, and motor overcurrent and undercurrent conditions are determined. The control module determines when the motor is in an overcurrent condition. Power stage has a triac for controlling power to the motor. The control module also has a microprocessor that compares the current sensed against a normal operating current to determine overcurrent condition. Power to motor ceases when overcurrent condition exists. A generator is powered by air flow in a cleaning system for production of electrical energy.

Abstract: A device for hooking a heddle of a weaving loom of the Jacquard type to a harness cord of the loom that includes an endpiece molded on an upper end of the heddle. The endpiece including an aperture for the passage and wedging of the cord and a housing for receiving two strands of the cord. The device also includes a rigid sleeve reciprocally slidably mounted on the endpiece between a first position, in which it allows access to the aperture, and a second position, in which it covers the aperture and exerts a compressive force for constricting the aperture and blocking access to the lower end of the cord. The device may also be used for hooking one or more cords on a string.

Abstract: A sheet metal fastener for securing a covering member to a cementitious-like base or insulating material wherein the fastener includes at least two hollow shanks that depend from a common head and wherein each shank includes opposing generally U-shaped spreadable legs for trapping plugs of the material there between and wherein side walls of the legs also flare laterally away from one another to grasp an additional plug of the material between adjacent shanks as the fastener is driven into the base or insulating material.

Abstract: A heddle frame having two uprights and two cross-rails interconnected by at least one brace extending in a direction generally parallel to the uprights. The brace includes a rod provided with a screw fastener at opposite ends thereof, two threaded members for being screwed onto one of the opposite ends of the rod, and first and second clamping members mounted to the opposite ends of the rod and the threaded members, respectively, for exerting a clamping locking force on a portion of each cross-rail wherein the locking force results from screwing the threaded members onto the opposite ends of the rod.

Abstract: The invention relates to a footwear item that is designed for racket sports. The inventive item includes a sole that includes a dynamic element that stores and releases energy when the sole is subjected to lateral stresses. The dynamic element includes at least two pair of elastically deformable support parts which are located longitudinally on either side of the metatarsus support area of the sole and which extend opposite to one another such that a first pair extend on opposite sides of a longitudinal axis of the sole and toward an arch portion of the sole and the second pair extend on opposite sides of the longitudinal axis of the sole and toward a front part of the sole.
