Abstract: A combination tool that includes opposing jaws and handles that function as conventional pliers and wherein the handles are configured to be abutted with one another to form a spudding tool having a generally circular cross section and wherein at least one stud extending from one of the handles cooperatively seats within at least one hole in the opposing handle when the handles are abutted with one another.
Abstract: A quick connect coupling includes male and female elements of which one includes a closure valve that is spaced inwardly from an open end of the one element and that is opened by engagement of the other element after a portion of the other element passes through an annular opening in the one element. To prevent accidental opening of the valve, a ratio of a radial width of the annular opening and a depth of the annular opening between the valve and an entrance into the annular opening is less that 1.
Abstract: Methods for sequential saponification and quantitative isomerization of glyceride oils containing interrupted double bond systems, with alkali in a polyether alcohol solvent to yield soaps with conjugated double bond systems are disclosed. The novel properties of the polyether alcohols allow the removal of water added with the alkali by boiling. The preferred embodiment uses a vegetable oil rich in linoleic acid such as sunflower or safflower oil, potassium hydroxide, phosphoric acid to neutralize the soaps. The reaction forms equal quantities of 9Z,11E-octadecadienoic acid and 10E,12Z-octadecadienoic acids.

Abstract: A portable clipboard organizer including at least one lower compartment tray which is selectively closed by a lid pivotally attached at one end thereof. The lid functions as a clipboard having a clamp assembly mounted thereto from which extends a clip for engaging an end of the tray to thereby latch the lid to the tray. In a preferred embodiment a holding mechanism is secured to selectively extend upwardly from the clamp assembly for purposes of supporting items above the clipboard and for also providing leverage for opening the clamp assembly.
Abstract: Each element in an array of display elements has first and second limiting positions and in respective limiting positions selectively displays a bright and a dark surface in a viewing direction. A transparent sheet is intermediate the array and the viewer. Conductors on said sheet direct light toward said array.
Abstract: Connecting devices for assembling the ends of helical springs with respect to other members wherein each connecting device includes at least two elastic branches adapted to frictionally engage with the end coils of a helical spring to thereby prevent the resonance of the spring when it is subjected to extension and compression. The connecting devices are particularly adapted for use for damping springs associated with the heddles in a weaving loom.
Abstract: An implement for use in simultaneously transporting multiple rolled forage bales which includes a frame having upper and lower portions with a first vertically movable bale engaging element mounted adjacent the upper portion of the frame and a lower bale engaging element mounted to the lower portion of the frame. The lower bale engaging element may be selectively removed from the frame to allow unrestricted elevating and loading or stacking of bales.
Abstract: A tamper resistant seal and a method of sealing an object using the tamper resistant seal are disclosed. The seal includes a receptacle and an insert adapted to be received in the receptacle. A tamper indicating wire is partially embedded in the insert and protrudes from an end of the insert. When the seal is assembled the insert is received in the receptacle and the wire extends along channels formed in opposite faces of the insert. If the wire is severed or removed from the channels by a tamperer attempting to break the seal, the structure of the channels prevents the wire from being repositioned therein to give a false indication of non-tampering. In addition, the receptacle is transparent to enable the wire to be visually examined to determine whether tampering has occurred.
Abstract: An electro-mechanical animal waste container for deodorizing fumes from animal waste is disclosed. The container includes an open frame, a tray, a fume hood and a sensor. The frame has a base and the tray is positioned therein. The tray is for receiving animal waste. The fume hood is attached to the frame and is spaced above the tray. The fume hood has an outlet port formed therein. A fan is positioned in the fume hood such that the fan draws the fumes from the tray into the fume hood and toward the outlet port. The sensor determines when there is an animal in the tray. A control circuit is operably connected to the sensor and the fan wherein when the sensor detects an animal in the tray the fan is switched on after a preselected amount of time and then after a second preselected amount of time the fan is switched off. Preferably a filter is positioned over the outlet port and is for deodorizing air that passes therethrough. Preferably a second filter is positioned at the bottom of fume hood.
Abstract: A play costume is comprised of a plurality of pads detachably mountable on body worn apparel. Optional items such as a belt and carrying bag with a draw string for transporting and storing the play costume parts may be packaged with the play costume as part of a costume kit. Further peripherals which may be included with the costume include: an integral sound system, interchangeable pads, simulated weapons, infrared detection systems, a powered simulated eye patch, interchangeable program cartridges and an integral light system.
Abstract: A double-lift weave system comprising a plurality of hooks, each of which is provided with two arms mounted on a base and each of which includes a lift lip adapted to cooperate with one of the knives of two griffe frames moving in phase opposition in a reciprocating movement. The position of each lip is controlled in order to be selectively moveable with respect to a knife by an actuator disposed between the two arms. Each hook further includes two open shed heels which are controlled by the actuator and adapted to cooperate with open shed bars so as to be moveable with respect to the bars. The system is particularly applicable to weaving looms.
Abstract: A cleaning tool including a housing in which a multi-purpose implement is rotatably mounted so as to selectively position one of a plurality of working surfaces outwardly of the housing. The housing and implement are removably and adjustably mounted to an extendable handle. A liquid container or reservoir is mounted so as to form a portion of the handle so that liquid may be selectively dispensed through the handle to a distribution header in the housing.
Abstract: A digital input/output circuit board includes a plurality of module receptacles for selectively mounting input modules or output modules, wiring terminals for attaching field wires to electrically connect the circuit board to field devices, a hot wiring terminal for attaching a hot power wire, a neutral wiring terminal for attaching a neutral power wire, and a device for selecting the status of each of the module receptacles as either an input or an output, to enable a computer connected to the circuit board to receive input signals to read the state of the field devices and to send output signals to activate other field devices.
