Abstract: An improved frost protection composition for plants. The composition includes sugar, potassium sulfate, iron chelate and manganese chelate dissolved in water. The composition is applied directly to the foliage and fruit of a plant prior to the plant's being subjected to freezing temperatures.

Abstract: An inductive sine wave oscillator circuit for an eddy current proximeter. The oscillator circuit includes an operational amplifier and a coil. The frequency and amplitude of the output signal produced by the circuit varies with and is controlled by the inductance of the coil. The circuit signal input to the operational amplifier undergoes a phase shift as the signal passes through the amplifier. One advantage of the oscillator circuit is that the frequency and amplitude of the output signal of the circuit for a coil having a particular inductance remains relatively stable and constant when the operating temperature of the coil varies. In addition, the coil can be fabricated from a material having a relatively high electrical resistivity.

Abstract: Improved telephone apparatus. Circuitry in the apparatus includes a memory unit. Telephone numbers can be dialed into the memory unit while an individual is conversing over the telephone. After the individual completes his conversation, the circuitry automatically electronically dials one of the telephone numbers stored in the memory unit.

Abstract: Apparatus for injecting chlorine gas through a nozzle into a stream of water flowing past the nozzle. The nozzle is shaped and dimensioned to cause turbulent intermixing of water at the point chlorine gas leaves the nozzle and enters a stream of water. The turbulent intermixing of the water minimizes the likelihood that salts carried in the chlorine gas will crystallize in and block the flow of chlorine gas through the nozzle.

Abstract: A storage and display stand for floppy computer memory disks. Each disk includes an upper portion and a lower portion. The display stand includes a base; a rotatable drum mounted on the base to rotate about a vertically disposed central axis, the drum including an outer peripheral generally vertically oriented surface spaced away from and circumscribing the central axis; and, a plurality of storage pockets carried on the peripheral surface. Each storage pocket is shaped and dimensioned to receive the lower portion of a memory disk such that the upper portion of the disk extends visably upwardly from the pocket.

Abstract: Apparatus for controlling signals produced by a transducer carried by an acoustic guitar. The control apparatus is mounted on the guitar and does not affect the structure or tonal qualities of the hollow tone-producing body of the guitar.

Abstract: As improved method for maintenancing the clutch housing in the transmission of a vehicle engine. The housing includes a cylindrical inner wall provided with a plurality of spaced apart U-shaped grooves each shaped and dimensioned to receive and house one of the radially projecting spaced apart U-shaped tangs on the periphery of a circular clutch plate positioned inside the housing, the spacing between the housing grooves generally corresponding to the spacing between the clutch plate tangs but only permitting certain ones of the tangs on the clutch plate to contact their respective grooves during operation of the transmission. The improved method retrofits the U-shaped grooves of the transmission housing such that all tangs on a clutch plate mounted in the housing simultaneously contact and bear against their respective U-shaped grooves in the housing during operation of the transmission.

Abstract: Improved apparatus for servicing the inking assembly of a printing press. The apparatus minimizes the likelihood that supplies of different colored inks will be contaminated during the servicing of the inking assembly of a printing press and permits a pressman to completely service the inking assembly without having to leave the site of the printing press.

Abstract: A necktie knot simulator. The knot simulator is adapted to be slidably positioned along a necktie and to fixedly detachably engage a portion of the necktie to maintain the knot simulator in the desired position on the tie.

Abstract: An improved vehicle frame alignment gauge. The gauge can be readily installed and operated by a single mechanic. The gauge does not have to be attached to and suspended from a vehicle frame and does not have to be readjusted while the frame is being stressed to alter the shape of the frame.

Abstract: An improved printing press. The printing press forms transverse lines of weakening at spaced intervals along a continuous strip of paper after the paper has been imprinted with a repeating business format. The press then creases the strip of paper along the lines of weakening formed therein.

Abstract: A mounting bracket for drawer rail assemblies. The bracket tightly interfits with and fixedly supports different sized drawer rail assemblies.

Abstract: A machine for folding continuous form stationery along transverse lines of weakening formed in the stationery. The machine includes a distribution mechanism for alternately dispensing lines of weakening in the stationery in opposite lateral directions of travel. Stationery distributed by the distribution mechanism is received between a pair of opposed endless belt units. The endless belt units fold stationery dispensed by the distribution mechanism and form a zig-zag stack of stationery between the belt units. The pair of opposed belt units contacts the outer parallel edges of the continuous form stationery and gradually carries the dispensed stationery away from the distribution mechanism.

The system utilizes an electrolytic cell and maintains a generally constant current flow through the electrolytic cell when the electrical resistance of water being treated by the cell varies. Abstract: Improved apparatus for producing continuous form stationery by folding a strip of paper along lines of weakening formed therein. The apparatus includes a frame, a distributing mechanism mounted on the frame for alternately distributing successive lines of weakening in the paper in substantially opposite directions, dispensing rollers carried on the frame for dispensing the continuous strip of paper into the distributing mechanism, folding mechanisms carried by the frame for urging the paper into a folded condition, a gear train for transmitting motive power to the dispensing rollers, the distributing mechanism, and the folding mechanisms, and a power unit to drive the gear train. The gear train includes at least one drive shaft transmitting motive power only to the portion of the gear train actuating the distributing and folding mechanisms.

Abstract: A vane-type hydraulically powered rotary actuator having a shaft provided with a radially extending vane. The shaft is rotatably carried inside a generally cylindrical actuator chamber formed in the housing of the rotary actuator. The vane includes a pair of end walls which move adjacent the actuator housing during operation of the rotary actuator. Improved means are provided for sealing the space between the end walls of the vane and the actuator housing during operation of the actuator.
