Abstract: A method and apparatus for nondestructively determining fiber volume fraction and resin porosity of a composite material constructed of at least two different constituent materials wherein the following parameters of the composite material to be tested are known: density, elastic moduli of the constituent materials and layup sequence. Two acoustic waves of different polarizations are propagated through the composite material and the acoustic waves propagated through the composite material are sensed and the velocity of each of the two acoustic waves, V.sub.1 and V.sub.2, are determined. The thickness of the composite material is determined. The fiber volume fraction and resin porosity of the composite material are then determined using the velocities, V.sub.1 and V.sub.2, the thickness and known parameters of density, elastic moduli of the constituent materials and layup sequence.
Abstract: An arrow support for use with a bow having a bow string and an arrow having an arrow shaft, a nock and fletch. The arrow support includes a support base connected to the bow. A first and a second post each are connected to the support base. A first roller arm is connected to the first post and the first roller arm extends at an angle upwardly from the base a distance from the first post generally toward the second post. A second roller arm is connected to the second post and the second roller arm extends a distance generally upwardly from the base and generally toward the first post. A roller is rollingly connected to the first roller arm and a second roller is rollingly connected to the second roller arm. The first and the second rollers each extend a distance from the respective first and the second roller arms for forming first and second roller contact surfaces.
Abstract: A flower pot or flower pot cover comprising a base and a skirt connected to an upper end of the base. The base includes a plurality of overlapping folds for providing structural integrity. The skirt includes a plurality of folds which are not connected to provide an overall pleated appearance. Portions of the folds in the skirt are connected and portions of the folds in the skirt are unconnected. In one embodiment, some of the folds in the base are connected and the remaining portions of the folds in the base are unconnected.
Abstract: An apparatus for grinding hypodermic syringes or needles, IV needles and other medical waste into relatively fine particles. The apparatus includes a housing having a case therein defining an inlet and an outlet. A plurality of rotors are disposed in the case, and each of the rotors has a plurality of radially outwardly extending teeth therein which interact with teeth on the other rotors to grind the syringes or needles. A discharge valve is provided for controlling the flow of particles discharged from the case. The teeth on the rotors are longitudinally and circumferentially spaced. Generally, the teeth on at least one of the rotors extend between the teeth on another of the rotors. Also, the teeth on at least a pair of the rotors have angled sides which are angled in opposite directions such that the angled sides of the teeth on one rotor generally face, and are aligned with, the corresponding angled sides of the teeth on the other rotor.
Abstract: An item of clothing adapted to be worn by an individual comprising a body panel and a lower end panel. The lower end panel is connected to the body panel so that the torso of the individual is disposed generally on the body panel and the lower end panel then is folded over a lower portion of the individual's torso and a right side portion of the body panel is folded over a portion of the individual's torso and attached to a portion of the body panel and a left side portion of the body panel is folded over a portion of the individual's torso and attached to the lower end panel for securing the body panel and the lower end panel assembled generally on the individual's torso. The clothing item also includes a left leg panel adapted for receiving the individual's left leg and a right leg panel adapted for receiving the individual's right leg.
Abstract: A method of cementing wells to minimize gas intrusion by applying pressures on the subsurface formations substantially equal to the natural formation pressures.
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to conveyor belts and, more particularly, but not by way of limitation, to a conveyor belt having ribs formed on a lower surface thereof for moving particles generally outwardly toward the first and the second sides of link assemblies which form the conveyor belt, and to a conveyor belt constructed of modules shaped so that the interconnections between modules are offset between each link assembly and adjacent link assemblies, and a flight link having curved portions formed the faces thereof so product slides on the surfaces rather than being toppled and a conveyor belt with a tracking product groove to substantially limit lateral movement of the conveyor belt.
Abstract: Triarylcyclopropane derivatives in which one or more of the aryl groups includes a hydroxy as a substituted or unsubstituted or alkoxy or side chain substituent. The compounds are useful as antiestrogens and anti-tumor agents.

Abstract: A sports training apparatus having a pad assembly pivotally connected to a frame assembly. The pad assembly is moveable from a stance position toward a raised position. The pad assembly also is moveable from a center position to a left of center position and from a center position to a right of center position.
Abstract: Apparatuses for lifting and supporting a structure comprising a support collar disposable on a support shaft, a jackstand with a support ledge disposable under the structure, and a lifting head for use with a support collar. A method for using the apparatuses comprising disposing a portion of the jackstand under the structure, driving the support shaft with a jack supported on the jackstand, and removing the jackstand. A support collar is disposed on the support shaft, and the structure lifted with a lifting head device secured to the support collar. The collar is secured to the shaft.
Abstract: A kit comprising various components which are connectable to a first and second member for making a phototool from the first and second members.
