Abstract: A method and apparatus for securing a sheet of material about a flower pot for providing a decorative cover to the flower pot, using a band applicator with an object opening. The sheet of material is held in place on the flower pot and the flower pot with the sheet of material held there about is inserted into the object opening of the band applicator. The band applicator applies a band about the sheet of material and the flower pot whereby the sheet of material is secured to the flower pot via the band.

Abstract: A paving material machine having a frame with an end-to-end tunnel for paving material capacity. The machine also includes an electro-hydraulic drive system using rotary transducers. In a configuration for laying down paving material, the machine has a front hopper for receiving paving material from trucks and a conveyor to transfer paving material rearward through the tunnel. A diverter plate and feed augers are mounted at the rear of the machine to regulate the paving material out of the rear of the tunnel. A lay down screed is located behind the feed augers. In order to improve turning characteristics in a system featuring a positive traction device, the drive system is connected to rotary transducers which measure the direction and degree of wheel turn. Using the input from the rotary transducers, the drive system allows a speed differential between the inside and outside wheels in a turn.
Abstract: The present invention comprises an in vitro system called the Diffusion Matrix Vessel and a method of using fluorokinetic analysis for quantifying the diffusion of a fluorescent material through the vessel and thereby characterizing the permeability of the vessel. The results obtained from the gel can be used to verify and develop protocols for investigating and treating angiopathies of the eye related to blood vessel permeability.

Abstract: A decorative plant assembly and a method for making such including a flower pot or other pot or plant container, a sheet of material having an opening formed through a portion of the sheet of material and a bonding means for holding the sheet of material in a position about the outer peripheral surface of the pot. When placed about the pot, at least a portion of the sheet of material engages a portion of the outer peripheral surface of the pot. At least a portion of the bottom of the pot means is exposed through the opening in the sheet of material. A portion of the sheet of material may extend away from the upper end of the pot means to form a skirt. The sheet of material when extended about the outer peripheral surface of the pot may further comprise a plurality of folds. The sheet of material may further comprise a tubular extension extending from the lower surface of the sheet of material.
