  • Patent number: 8325076
Abstract: A Time-to-Digital Converter (TDC) is constructed using simple digital delay circuits. The design uses a clock compensation scheme to modify and adjust the TDC's operation under integrated circuit fabrication process variations. The TDC design is based on a novel digital processing algorithm that produces one conversion every clock cycle. Therefore, this TDC is the “first” single cycle latency TDC targeted at high speed circuit applications such as (but not limited to) time-based Analog to Digital Converters (ADCs) for direct analog to digital conversion of radio frequency signals in wireless communication systems and high speed signal measurement applications. Due to its hierarchical design approach, the TDC design uses an optimized number of delay circuits and therefore requires very little power consumption and silicon area.

  • Patent number: 8317477
Abstract: Disclosed is a simultaneous twin pitch adjustment system that includes a flexible shafting cord operatively connected to first and second couplers. The couplers are supported by posts and are operatively connected to pitch communicators. A handle is supported by each post and is configured such that manipulation of the handle translates to adjustment of the pitch of an associated rotor blade assembly. When the simultaneous twin pitch adjustment system is engaged, manipulation of one handle further translates, via the flexible shafting cord, to adjustment of the pitch of another rotor blade assembly in an amount essentially equal to the amount the associated rotor blade assembly is adjusted.

  • Patent number: 8291726
Abstract: The invention is a folding locket which can take the form of an oblong or cylindrical locket, and can be folded into a generally heart shaped locket. In either of these configurations, oblong or heart, the locket can be opened by rotating the two halves of the locket apart. When the two halves of the locket are rotated apart, a picture, hidden on each side of the locket becomes visible; thus, opening the locket makes visible two pictures which can be selected by the user. The pictures displayed in the mounting are mounted in the position which spans the fold line of the locket.

  • Patent number: 8274287
Abstract: The present invention relates to a sensor arrangement. In particular, a sensor for the measurement of magnetically active or ferrous debris, for example, as generated as a result of machine wear. There is provided a sensor (5) having a magnetic sensor head adapted to produce a magnetic field, —a magnetic field sensor (10) responsive to changes in the magnetic field; a temperature probe (15); and processing means (50) for determining the amount of debris accumulated on the magnetic sensor head based on both magnetic field and temperature data.

  • Patent number: 8266806
Abstract: A collapsible saw including a saw blade with teeth and a saw frame. The frame is made of four parts; a handle, a front piece, a support body and a lever piece. The four frame units fold flat and enclose both sides of the blade and fold out to form a generally U shaped saw frame, with the saw blade stretched between the two ends of the U shaped frame. The frame parts are connected to each other, and the saw has a sawing and a transport mode.

  • Patent number: 8262984
Abstract: Disclosed is a mixing, milling, and aeration apparatus for the digestion of metal ore with bacteria. It includes a tank and a center post therein. At least one mixing blade extends radially from the center post. At least one roller is supported by a mixing blade, where each roller is configured to roll about the center of the tank while applying a crushing force to solids within the tank. At least one gas distributor, supported by a mixing blade, defines a plurality of holes through which gas is distributed to encourage mixing of the contents of the tank, to encourage distribution of oxygen through the contents, and to discourage fouling of the bottom of the tank and the rollers.

  • Patent number: 8211156
Abstract: The invention is a bone screw apparatus. The bone screw apparatus has two specialized functions for stabilizing the screw within a bone. The first is a mechanical structure that anchors the screw within a bone and the second is a structure that allows injection of bone cement through the screw assembly and into the interior structure of the bone. The anchoring mechanism functions by an expandable member that slides concentrically over the shaft of the screw. When the expandable member is forced over a portion of the screw shaft with an enlarged diameter, the expandable member extends radially from the screw shaft, and the bone screw is anchored to the interior structure of the bone. The injecting function of the bone screw apparatus functions through the use of a hollow core within the screw shaft. The hollow core of the screw shaft has an inlet at the top of the shaft and at least one outlet near the tip of the screw shaft.
