Abstract: An adjustable flow control valve having a rectangular flow control member selectively positionable within a fluid passageway. The flow control member is mounted transversely to the flow passageway in a guide slot integrally formed in the valve housing with the longitudinal edges of the control member extending outwardly from the slot. A closed end cylindrical adjustment nut having a tubular portion surrounding one end of the mounted control member is guided for rotation in a housing bore. The internal diameter of the adjustment nut is threaded and engages corresponding external threads located on the longitudinal edges of the rectangular flow control member. Selective rotation of the adjustment nut is effective for positioning the flow control member into the fluid passageway transversely to the direction of fluid flow therethrough, thereby varying the effective fluid flow area.
Abstract: A solenoid assembly for high-temperature service having a flanged housing, cover plate, and coil bobbin molded from high-temperature resistant thermosetting plastic. The coil terminals are located over lug projections integrally molded into the flanged portion of the housing to prevent pull-out. The coil bobbin is received in the housing and the cover plate interlocks axially thereover to capture the coil bobbin therein. The components are retained as an assembly by a surrounding pole frame.
Abstract: A dispenser for storing and dispensing ice cubes in a dispensed condition substantially free of ice chips. An electric motor driven gear train is mounted in the bottom of the ice dispenser storage bin and terminates in an output pinion which engages with a shaft mounted rotor member. The rotor member rotates about a vertical axis and includes an upper spider like section having a plurality of circumferentially spaced radially extending arms which function to maintain the stored ice cubes in a loose condition. The rotor includes a flanged rotor section adjacent the bottom of the storage bin having a plurality of radially extending rib members on its top surface. A dispensing chute is tangentially aligned with respect to the rib portion of the lower rotor section and also the hub surface of the rotor and functions to channel the loosened ice cubes therethrough.
Abstract: A valve for limiting the temperature of water flowing to a shower head, including a poppet valve member moveable into sealing engagement with a seat in response to the operation of an expansible temperature sensing member. Resilient means for accommodating overtravel of the sensing member, baffle means for directing water to the sensing member, means for effecting self centering of the poppet member and sealing means for isolating a moveable actuating portion of the sensing member are provided.
Abstract: A dishwasher drain valve provides axial alignment of inlet and outlet ports, a poppet is pivotally mounted in a chamber adjacent to the flow chamber of the valve and moves from a position blocking flow to one allowing substantially free straight through flow. The poppet is configured to provide self-centering within the valve body and allow for self-alignment with a valve seat formed in the through passage between the inlet and outlet ports.

Abstract: A liquid level monitoring system functions by applying an alternating voltage to a probe. When the liquid level in a reservoir touches the probe, a low impedance to ground is present, thereby permitting current to flow to ground. When the liquid level falls below the probe, a high impedance to ground is created and current flows to a detector. The detector switches on an alarm which flashes an appropriate warning.
