    Abstract: A support system useful to interconnect interstage components in a centrifugal compressor. The system allows controlled balancing of pressure induced forces while accommodating thermal expansion and contraction. In one preferred form a support ring is mounted about a scroll volute but supported through tie rods from a conduit concentrically aligned with the volute. A second support ring is mounted about the conduit, facing but spaced from the first ring, and supported from the volute. The support rings are respectively sealed to the volute and conduit through O-rings which allow sliding axial motion. A grooved peripheral pipe coupling seals the space between the support rings. The surface area of the support rings can be selectively chosen to direct and control pressure forces within the compressor system.

    Abstract: In a rapid restrike starter embodying the invention, a starting circuit applies a series of high voltage pulses, each of approximately the same magnitude through a transformer in series with the ballast and the high intensity discharge lamp to be started, a voltage triggered switch such as a sidac is used to turn the starting circuit on at a predetermined voltage, a second voltage triggered switch connected in series with the first acts in conjunction with a circuit comprised of capacitors and resistors to cause a series of resonant symmetric pulses each approximately the same magnitude as the initial pulse, the use of this oscillating pulse provides restrike performance at approximately two-thirds the pulse voltage otherwise required which improves long term reliability by decreasing the likelihood of socket arcing and insulation breakdown.

    Abstract: An electric circuit breaker or switch is disclosed having a plug-in connection means with an auxiliary bolt-operated means for enhancing the electrical and mechanical connection between the circuit breaker and a panelboard terminal. A U-shaped terminal clip is mounted in an opening in the circuit breaker case. The terminal clip engages over and frictionally grips a stab terminal on a panelboard to provide an electrical connection. A C-shaped clamp fits over and partially encircles the terminal clip in such a manner that the free ends of the clamp arms project inwardly toward and contact the legs of the terminal clip. A screw, which may be non-conductive, is retained in a bore in the molded case of the circuit breaker, extends into the terminal clip opening and engages a threaded hole in the C-shaped clamp.

    Abstract: A grounding mechanism for an electrical connector having a metal generally U-shaped spring contact mounted on a cylindrical rubber or neoprene connector body which is connected directly to the internal ground contact within the connector body. Resilient tips on the body act to bias the free ends of the spring contact outwardly. The free ends of the spring contact stay in contact with a rotatable collar mounted over the body due to the compressed nature of the pre-formed metal spring contact, as well as the radially outward force of the resilient connector body tips acting on the free ends of the spring contact.

The wall has a pair of opposed and aligned elongated slots disposed above the open end. The clips are adapted to rotate outwardly for securing the housing above the ceiling in an installed position. Each of the clips has a wide body portion, a narrow leg member, and a foot portion. The leg member has a first bend adjacent the body portion and a second bend adjacent the foot portion so as to form a partial loop.

The hanger assembly includes a hanger body 30 and an expandable locking assembly 46 comprised of a plurality of latching fingers 77 secured at their lower ends about the hanger body by a split retainer ring 48 which permits limited pivotal movement of the latching fingers about their lower ends. Each latching finger 47 is provided with a hook surface 71 adjacent its upper end adapted to engage an upward facing abutment 20 on the inner profile of the outer casing. The free ends of the latching fingers are urged outwardly by a circular spring 58.

A double acting reflector system is mounted in the cavity that includes a first reflector of a generally concave configuration. A light source is positioned in the upper portion of the cavity. The first reflector is configured to capture a substantial portion of the light emanating from the light source and reflect it downward. The reflector system also includes a second reflector extending down from a lower rear edge of the first reflector. The second reflector is configured to capture a portion of the light projected from the first reflector and reflect it outwardly and downwardly to help form a rectangular lighting pattern on a planar surface. A transparent, nonprismatic lens is included which is secured to the housing to cover the open end. The housing may include an aperture with a removable plug to provide access to the light source for connection of wires and the like.

    Abstract: A manually actuated electrical conductor wire insulation cutting and stripping apparatus has an elongated housing adapted to be mounted on a conductor wrapping tool or connected to a pistol grip type handle. The housing supports a wire cut off blade assembly and an insulation cutting and stripping blade assembly which are actuated simultaneously by an elongated shaft extending in and supported by the housing and connected to a manual actuating lever. The insulation cutting and stripping blades are retained on the housing at one end thereof by a removable cover member which permits interchanging insulation cutting and stripping blades without major disassembly of the apparatus. The wire cut off blades are mounted on a movable support member and one of the wire cut off blades retains the other blade in a recess formed in the support member and connected to the shaft for rotation therewith.
