  • Patent number: 4571328
Abstract: A coating comprising elemental silicon is electrodeposited on a substrate from an aqueous medium. The plating bath is a solution of what is described as one or more metal hydrides. The metal hydrides of the present invention are provided by combining stoichiometric amounts of metal, alkaline metal hydroxide and water in a preselected proportion by mole percent. The particular proportion is a function of the particular metal. A hydride concentrate is provided which is used in aqueous solution to provide a plating bath.

  • Patent number: 4564894
Abstract: A trouble light for car mechanics, etc., which utilizes magnets to position and mount the trouble light so as to more effectively direct light on to the desired work area. In particular, it is primarily designed for use in relatively close spaces where it is either inconvenient or impossible to employ conventional means such as a hook or a second person to position and direct the light. The light includes a bracket composed of a non-ferromagnetic material such as aluminum, a plurality of magnets mounted onto the bracket, a plurality of angular ferromagnetic pole pieces for mounting the magnets onto the bracket, and a heat shield for protecting the magnets from heat radiated by the light bulb. The bracket and the heat shield are mounted to the light housing of the trouble light such that the shield is interposed between the bracket and the housing.
