  • Patent number: 8191001
Abstract: Improved systems and methods for navigating and interacting in virtual communication environments are described. At least some of these systems and methods provide a framework that includes one or more virtual areas and supports realtime communications between the communicants. At least some of these systems and methods provide an interface that includes navigation controls that enable a user to navigate virtual areas and interaction controls that enable the user to interact with other communicants in the one or more virtual areas.

  • Patent number: 7844724
Abstract: In one aspect, one or more real-time data stream connections that deliver a set of real-time data streams to a given network node are determined based at least in part on bandwidth capabilities of the given network node. In another aspect, for each of one or more recipient network nodes, a respective link over which to transmit a respective transmission set of one or more real-time data streams is determined. For each of the links, the respective link bandwidth is apportioned between one or more channels that are respectively allocated to the one or more real-time data streams in the respective transmission set.

  • Patent number: 7779829
Abstract: A solar thermal energy collector manifold is provided. The manifold is connected to solar collector tubes for collecting solar energy. A fluid is used to transfer the heat collected from the collector tubes. The manifold includes an inlet path for receiving the fluid, a fluid flow path for transferring the fluid to the solar collector tubes, and an outlet path for outputting the heated fluid. To facilitate the flow paths, the manifold includes a plate with depressions.

  • Patent number: 7769806
Abstract: Switching real-time data stream connections between network nodes sharing a virtual area is described. In one aspect, the switching involves storing a virtual area specification. The virtual area specification includes a description of one or more switching rules each defining a respective connection between sources of a respective real-time data stream type and sinks of the real-time data stream type in terms of positions in the virtual area. Real-time data stream connections are established between network nodes associated with respective objects each of which is associated with at least one of a source and a sink of one or more of the real-time data stream types. The real-time data stream connections are established based on the one or more switching rules, the respective sources and sinks associated with the objects, and respective positions of the objects in the virtual area.

  • Patent number: 7564707
Abstract: An apparatus includes a semiconductor substrate, elongated diffused well regions, and elongated conductors. The semiconductor substrate has a first electrical conductivity type. The elongated diffused well regions are in the semiconductor substrate. The diffused well regions have a second electrical conductivity type opposite the first electrical conductivity type. Each of the elongated electrical conductors crosses the diffused well regions at respective locations of one-time programmable memory cells. Each of the memory cells includes a antifuse structure between the respective diffused well region and the respective electrical conductor. Each of the memory cells has a first state in which the antifuse structure has a first electrical resistance and a second state in which the antifuse structure has a second electrical resistance lower than the first electrical resistance.

  • Patent number: 6947539
Abstract: Automated call routing systems and methods are described. In one implementation, a speech recognition directory system facilitates the routing of callers based upon stored results of recent disambiguations, which may be stored in heuristic profiles that are associated with callers. Instead of requiring a caller to process a series of disambiguation attempts, in which secondary information is presented for the caller's approval, this call routing scheme leverages the fact that the user is likely seeking a person they've previously contacted. In large directories, this call routing scheme improves the speed of the transaction and eliminates the frustration of the disambiguation process. Rather than pursuing a disambiguation process with the caller, the call routing system may immediately announce the transfer. The caller may abort the process if the selected call destination is incorrect.
