  • Patent number: 6961892
Abstract: An address information detecting apparatus in accordance with the present invention is arranged such that a first interpolation address generating section generates a first interpolation address according to a consistent signal supplied from an address comparison section, and a second interpolation address generating section generates a second interpolation address according to an error detection signal supplied from a CRC error detecting section. When a detected address is consistent with at least either of the first and second interpolation addresses and also no error is discovered according to the error detection signal, the detected address is adopted as absolute location information, whereas in situations other than the above, the first interpolation address is adopted as the absolute location information. On this account, even if an address error is mis-detected, the malfunction of the apparatus is prevented and proper recording/reproduction can be carried out.

  • Patent number: 6958969
Abstract: In an optical semiconductor package according to the present invention, the component bearing surface of the stem having an outline made up of opposed first and second circular-arc parts, a first straight-line part which connects each end of the first and second circular-arc parts and a second straight-line part which connects each other end of the first and second circular-arc parts. The first and second circular-arc parts have a common center, and the first circular-arc part has a larger radius than that of the second circular-arc part. Thus, the larger space, the space between the first circular-arc part and the center, can be used for disposing the light detector or a polarization split element, and the unused space, the space between the second circular-arc part and the center, will be minimum, thereby realizing downsizing and cost reduction of the device.

  • Patent number: 6957031
Abstract: An average concentration value is detected within a measurement area (about 10 dots) corresponding to the pitch of a detection pattern in the total color matching adjustment range (100 dots), and from a value detected as a local maximum value, a candidate for correction value for the exposure timing of an adjustment image is acquired within the color matching adjustment range. This process is carried out for two types of detection patterns having different pitches thereby to acquire two candidates. A correction value for the exposure timing is determined from a candidate shared by the two detection patterns. At the time of color matching adjustment, the wasteful consumption of the developer or the like is suppressed, while carrying out the color matching adjustment efficiently within a short time.

  • Patent number: 6951776
Abstract: A method is proposed for fabricating a TFBGA (Thin & Fine Ball-Grid Array) package with embedded heat spreader. Conventionally, since an individual TFBGA package is quite small in size, it would be highly difficult to incorporate an embedded heat spreader therein. As a solution to this problem, the proposed method utilizes a single substrate predefined with a plurality of package sites, and further utilizes a heat-spreader frame including an integrally-formed matrix of heat spreaders each corresponding to one of the package sites on the substrate. A batch of semiconductor chips are then mounted on the respective package sites on the substrate. During the encapsulation process, a single continuous encapsulation body is formed to encapsulate the entire heat-spreader frame and all the semiconductor chips. After ball implantation, a singulation process is performed to cut apart the encapsulation body into individual package units, each serving as the intended TFBGA package.
