Patent number: 4186835Abstract: A box for ampoules has a front wall with a top edge well below the top edge of the rear wall so as to define (with side walls) an opening closed by a cover extending from the rear wall and overlapping the front wall to which it is secured by an adhesive edge. Lines of perforations across the overlapping portion define a web to be torn off when access is to be had to the ampoules. This leaves the remaining part of the cover with a tongue which, when the box is again to be closed, is tucked into a pocket between the front wall and a support for the ampoules which also strengthens the front wall. The support includes corrugated cardboard providing compartments for the ampoules. The tongue and top edge of the front wall are shaped to interlock.Type: GrantFiled: October 10, 1978Date of Patent: February 5, 1980Assignee: Interondo AGInventor: Otto Hofer

Patent number: 4170878Abstract: An energy conversion system for deriving useful power from the thermal gradients in the ocean, or from solar, geothermal, or other sources of low level heat, by using warm water to heat a confined working gas such as air whereby a pressure increase results due to warming the gas, arranging so that the expansion moves a piston or other device to extract power, and then cooling the gas and compressing it back to initial conditions while directly or indirectly contacting it with cooler water to thereby decrease the work needed for recompression. Net useful work results from the difference between the work of expansion at higher temperature and the work of recompression at lower temperature.Type: GrantFiled: October 13, 1976Date of Patent: October 16, 1979Inventor: Charles E. Patent number: 3961225Abstract: A novel gap type surge absorber is disclosed. The surge absorber comprises a plurality of carbon thin films isolated from each others at short distances attached to the surface of an insulating body and one material selected from the group consisting of a metal, an alloy and a conductive adhesive as an electrode fixed to each of the plural carbon thin films. The surge absorber is an element based on a new mechanism that when a surge voltage reaches a prescribed value, a discharge is generated owing to emission of electrons between the carbon thin films and thereby a creeping discharge is initiated between the electrodes. The surge absorber has a small electrostatic capacity as well as a small discharge lag and is capable of cutting off a follow current.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 1975Date of Patent: June 1, 1976Assignee: Mitsubishi Mining & Cement Company, Ltd.Inventors: Kan-ichi Tachibana, Michihiro Nishioka, Akio Uchida, Mikiya Ono
