    Abstract: A multiple, metered dosage device having an elongated body provided adjacent one end with a compartment or an ampule to contain material to be dispensed, a piston movable against the material to discharge it from a nozzle, a rod-like plunger movable by a pressure device against the piston to discharge material and a combination stop and release unit movable intermediately of the ends of the body between depressed and elevated positions respectively to engage a pair of racks of teeth on the plunger and including first and second teeth respectively engageable with the racks of teeth sequentially to permit the pressure device to advance the plunger and piston in similar metered, precise or predetermined increments of feeding in discharge direction and then stop the feeding movement and maintain such stopped position until the stop and release unit next is depressed.

    Abstract: A new type of dental prosthetic facing and a new method of preparation of dental prosthetic facings is disclosed. The dental prosthetic facing is provided with an outer shader layer, an intermediate at least substantially uncolored, translucent layer, and an opaque substructure color keyed with the shader layer to match a shade guide. The opaque substructure may be a metal support with a surface opaquing agent in one species.The dental prosthetic facing may be prepared by removably mounting an intermediate uncolored translucent layer that is a crown on a color keyed opaque substructure that is a dental mount. The dental mount being matched to an opaque dental cement that will mount the finished shaded dental crown.

    Abstract: A combination mixing and discharge capsule for storing separate ingredients which are to be mixed together prior to use and including a container body for one ingredient closed at one end by a slidable piston and the opposite end being displaceably received in a cup-shaped cap which forms a second compartment with a perforated wall of the container body opposite the end containing the piston for receiving a frangible pillow containing a liquid second ingredient to be mixed with the ingredient in the body. The cap has a discharge nozzle extending axially therefrom and when the cap is displaced farther onto the body the innermost wall of the pillow is burst to cause the discharge of the liquid ingredient through the perforated wall end into the container body for mixing with the ingredient therein.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a new method of ameliorating oxygen inhibition especially with curable dental material having a polymerizable system including polymerizable organic compound, and polymerization initiator activatable by actinic radiation. The method involves shaping the dental material into a shaped member having relatively vertical surface and relatively horizontal surface, preparing a liquid composition, applying the liquid composition to the relatively vertical surface and the relatively horizontal surface to the member, forming a layer from the liquid composition, and applying actinic light to the light curable material through the layer. The method preferably involves including water and organic compound in the liquid composition and providing the layer in an amount of at least about 35 mg/dm.sup.2 on a fully dried weight basis.

To overcome this the present inspection system includes means (7) for scanning the image receiving surface in directions extending substantially radially across the image receiving surface to produce an output signal, and a signal analyser (12) arranged to monitor the output signal corresponding to each radial scan to detect the presence of any irregularity in the workpiece.
