    Abstract: The invention relates to a method and apparatus for merging page elements according to a layout signal into one page for reproduction on a reproduction device. The page elements are segmented into smaller area tiles before storage stored into memory. Data from the page elements includes metadata describing the position into the memory of the sub-elements of the page element. Due to the used format for the page elements, data needed during merging can be retrieved, decompressed an processed quickly so merging can be done in real time during printing. The format used for the area tiles enables easy and fast execution of various image operations such as mirroring, rotation, etc . . . Complexity data can be incorporated into the page element data, giving information about the amount of processing required to execute the merging.

In an Autospot Mode of the present invention, a cursor is automatically positioned on the display device over the hottest spot in the infrared scene image captured by the camera. The temperature at this location is also automatically displayed. The location of the cursor, and the temperature of the scene at this location, are automatically updated for successive frames of data captured and displayed by the infrared camera system. In a Delta Mode of the present invention, the difference in temperature between two points in a thermal image, designated by an operator using first and second cursors, is calculated and displayed.

    Abstract: An apparatus and a method are disclosed for digitizing a color negative picture and correcting the image signals in a way that they are linearly related to the luminance of the photographed scene for grey tones in the scene. For determining the correction, use is made of the characteristic system curve indicating for each of the color components the relation between the luminance of a neutral color swatch in the scene and the density sensed by the scan system. Several methods for drafting said system curve are described. Furthermore, the way of obtaining the color-corrected image signals by means of a color transformation and the way of determining the transformation are explained.

    Abstract: An imaging system is provided for imaging media of while supported at an imaging position on a support surfaces. The system includes a loading device configured to move the medium to be imaged along the support surface to the imaging position. During loading, the leading edge of the medium, which extends across the medium width and substantially perpendicular to a direction of movement of the medium, moves in a direction towards a registration device. A registration device is contacted by the leading edge of the medium during loading so as to position the medium in the imaging position on the support surface. A medium securing device secures the medium to the support surface and a perforation mechanism subsequently punches or notches the medium prior to imaging. A drive mechanism is provided to move the perforation mechanism and the registration device, typically prior to loading of the medium, to a position which corresponds to the particular width of the medium to be imaged.

The method includes the steps of coating the piston outer diameter with a layer of PTFE based composite material and then diamond turning the piston outer diameter to a final piston diameter. The cylinder wall is also coated with a PTFE based composite layer which may be deposited by an electroless nickel plating process. The cylinder longitudinal bore is then diamond turned to a cylinder final diameter for mating with the piston final diameter.
